MODERNTEARS’second single “I’m Leaving” has been published on Dreambound’s YouTube channel. The song follows on from the previous single “Wasting Away” which has been very popular with the public – the video has reached more than 100,000 views on YouTube.
This is what the Italian Modern / MelodicHC band had to say about it: “This track is related to the previous single ‘Wasting Away’, but in this track, the protagonist has become more aware of his value. The strong feeling of emptiness has been replaced by a more positive will to change, even if some demons have not yet been put to bed. This is a goodbye to the worst and the darkest days, desperately shouting that things are finally coming to an end. ‘I’m Leaving’ is a journey through melancholy and regrets”.
Today we share the second single Distance with you. Originally Distance was planned as the first track, or exposition, of the Vortex symphony. Lyrically, the departure into a new world (the vortex) is discussed.
Mouth were formed in Cologne, Germany in 2000 as a trio, comprised of Christian Koller (vocals, guitars, occasional keyboards), Gerald Kirsch (bass) and Nick Mavridis (drums, backing vocals, keyboards). Indeed, their style is often cited as a mixture of ‘retro prog’, Krautrock, hard rock, psyche and glam rock – all together it fuses into a unique spleen often underlined with dystopian themes.
Wrath Sins are hailing from Portugal, Vila Nova de Gaia. The band was formed in 2012. and this is their second full length studio album.
The album contains instrumental intro plus nine tracks. After the opening intro track, the album opener “Unquiet Heart” practically blew me away. This track has it all, thrash metal aggression, melodies to mosh to, great shouted and clean sung vocals and I immediately knew that this album will be something awesome. Apart from all the thrash metal this band also cleverly uses some superb progressive metal parts with some fresh ideas thrown in making their metal modern but also with a nod to the old masters. “Collision” is an anthem that even Phil Anselmo would not be ashamed of. The highlights of the album are for sure “Fear of the Unseen”, “The Sun Wields Mercy” and already above mentioned “Unquiet Heart”. If you are a fan of modern thrash metal with a progressive touch and moshy parts, get this one.
