On this new single the two songs match the direction Lars Voith, the mastermind of the project wanted it to go. This means dark and electronic synthpop with a lot of ambient and experimental parts with a nod to the classics of the genre Kraftwerk, whose work influenced so many that came after them. As far as I am concerned, I like this stuff. As a lifelong Depeche Mode fan since I was a kid, I can listen to such darker side of synthpop and learn to love it. I cant wait how the whole album will sound like. Here is the little teaser:

(record review)VOTOV-“S/T”

Votov hail from Winnipeg, Canada and this trio united their years long experience in the underground music scene and in 2015.formed this band wishing to play brutal death thrash metal, stripped of any effects, meaning playing pure brutal metal.

Ironstone_DigiPak

This debut cd contains 7 songs and one Celtic Frost cover. From the start of the album it´s clear that there are no jokes and no holds barred with these guys. The music is American school of death metal, but there are lot of grooves in the song structures and above all, I really love the production sound of the album, the job was indeed well done. I understood the thrash metal parts of the songs as a nod of the head to the old masters who probably influenced the guys through their formative years in the metal scene. Canada always gave great underground metal and hardcore bands, so I imagine that Votov have a great future in the store if they persist with their hard work. The results are already shown, here, through this album!

(record review)BLACK WINE ORDER-“Folklore”

The people that are following this webzine for a while will remember that we already featured Black Wine Order on this pages when we reviewed their last album.

The mystery surrounding this band/project continues on, the new album arrived on our e-mail address. This band has no Fb page, no official page, and the information about it is scarce on the web. All I dug out is that they are from France and that it is pretty much one man project. Believe it or not, this third album is darker than its predecessor and more scary and fitting to be soundtrack to a horror movie. 9 featured tracks are a the collection of dark ambient music, almost ritualistic in some simplistic elements. We can also find a lot of dungeon synth influences. The tracks where vocals exist are mainly some weird singing, spoken word, some whispering, moaning and the vocals add to the disturbing factor in the music of Black Wine Order. As I said last year, this music is not for everyone, but I love to awaken the darkness within me, so if you have similar taste and you crave for an indulgence in such music, be my guest, get this one!
