Dear Youth are Canadian melodic punk quintet formed in 2015. They are based in Montreal area. This is their new e.p. out on Anchor Eighty Four and I listened and reviewed it for this webzine.

I said it before and I will say it again here. I love, no, not love, adore Canadian punk hardcore scene. So many awesome bands, labels, friendly people. Now, this e.p. contains 5 songs. The music Dear Youth play is a fine mixture between melodic punkrock, emo, pop punk and hardcore. The songs vary and are in no way boring and not a second of this record becomes dull while listening. From emotional punkrock mid tempo melodies of “Fair Warning” to faster stuff like “Await the Sobering” the emotions and the melody take over me as a participating listener and transport me to some otherwordly dimension, full of sadness, nostalgia, but also hope and smile. I love this record. It reminds me of the shiny Summer days of my youth and puts a smile on my face. Therefore, awesome record!

Awesome label from USA Batcave Records recently treated us with releasing the new Stellar Corpses e.p. Now, it is time for rerelease of the classic The Brains first album “No Brain, No Pain”.

This is the remastered release of the first classic album by the Montreal psychobilly legends. First coming out 13 years ago, in now far 2005.this album shows this band as it was in their begginings, fast, a bit rawer and melodic. Led by Rene DelaMuerte Garcia, The Brains became one of the best psychobilly bands in the world and for sure one of my all time favorites. This album contains 12 songs of melody, darkness, gore, the trademark Rene´s vocals and with the titles like “Taste Your Blood” and “Dead Corpses” you just can´to go wrong. It was recorded in only two days with really low budget and the interesting liner notes tell the story how Rene was sick during the recording, so there are some interesting facts not known before. This remastered release of this album does justice and presents the history of this great band to some new kids in the scene.
