Fair Do’s are a 4-piece melodic hardcore band from Manchester, known for their incendiary combination of punk and metal, rooted in exceptional technical skill. Driven by a strong DIY ethos, they’ve established a dedicated following around Europe and have supported legends like After The Fall, A Wilhelm Scream, Frenzal Rhomb and H20.

Their first full-length, ‘Leopards’, is an adrenaline-loaded collision of hardcore punk and metal, rooted in tight, technical talent. Their astute, political lyrics cover topics as diverse as wealth distribution, foreign policy and the monarchy. That said, Fair Do’s hold onto their renowned Northern wit, also casting their sights on Noel Edmonds and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

(record review)ABOVE ALL GLORY-“Concrete Melodies e.p.”

Above All Glory are relatively new band from Hamburg, Germany, and this is their new record which I had the pleasure of listening and reviewing for this webzine.

cover

Formed in 2016.these guys have been active playing live and sharing stages with such names as Get Dead or Useless ID. Of course, that would mean nothing without playing awesome music! This German trio plays a mixture of fast skatecore with the melody of pop punk and they sound like the 90-ies Epitaph of Fat Wreck Chords bands transformed and evolved for the 21st century. The e.p. contains 5 songs with anthemic and epic melodies, sing along choruses and fast and energetic punkrock at times chilled with some mid tempo emotional melodic punk. I am repeating myself, but I will say it again, the vocals mean a lot to me while listening bands like this, and the vocals on this record are superb, the singer sometimes reminds me of Croatian melodic punk band Fraktura Mozga. Not on every song but often in some parts.  The backing vocals and harmonies are full and to the point here. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this record and if you are a fan of such music, and I of course am, get this record! Top song: “Hunt the Hunter” although it has a riff in which I constantly heard “Basket Case” by Green Day for some seconds, but that is only me.
