(record review)The Savage Seven-I Cut Loose In The Zone

The Savage Seven are from Detroit and they recently released their new record and I listened and reviewed it for this zine.

I must admit that I have never heard of this guys prior to this record and I am glad that I discovered them now. This record contains 6 songs. The music of The Savage Seven can be described as a mixture of horrorpunk and 70-ies rock with garage punk thrown in the song structures making the material sound melodic, but gritty and dirty. The whole record sounds to me a bit like soundtrack from those Grindhouse movies and remind me of some bloody, gory, slasher like Rob Zombie´s flick 31 or similar. I liked oriental guitar in Roadside Burial and wild rock n roll energy in Mini Bus Meth Lab. This record is dark, but also has so much energy to fill in your bloodcraving black soul for a while leaving it wanting more. 7,5/10
