(record review)Gallowmere-From the Forested North

These guys are new generation of horrorpunk being around since 2013. As they say, they are from the Lovecraftian parts of the world, meaning the good old town of Innsmouth. Whether they are the offspring of Cpt Obed Marsh and his kind, find out by listening to the record that I reviewed for this zine.

The record contains 7 songs of well played horrorpunk. Blitzkid legacy can be heard in A Black Rose and Dreamer Discarnate, but there is also a lot of metalic roots like in Power of the Grave. What I love about this record is the kind of dark and gritty atmosphere that makes my skin goosebumps when I listen to the music. It˙s like the vibe of Lovecraft` s stories, who is my favorite horror author. The lyrics are well written, the music is awesome and this record is another proof that not all horrorpunk records are Misfits clones, like some people think and present our beloved scene.
