Friday’s Spirit is a punk rock band hailing from Salzburg, Austria.
After an EP titled “Parts”, out since 2017, the band is now back with a music video for its brand new single, titled “TSTT”. Perfectly showing the punk and rock influences of the band, this single is officially available on major streaming platforms since January 28th 2019.
On this new single and music video, the band comments:
TSTT actually means Trans-Siberian Thunder Tiger and is based on a real story, reported by the UK newspaper METRO. In 2016, a man, allegedly from the Czech Republic, was filmed by hidden cameras, running 15 and a half miles naked through a forested area near the Czech-Polish border. The police later on reported that he had taken the hallucinatory drug LSD, which made him feel like he had become a Siberian tiger.
At first, when we read about it, we were just joking around. However, the more we laughed and talked about it, the more we were trying to re-create the circumstances that had led to this bizarre transformation. In fact, he also mentioned that he had always felt connected to the animal. So, hands down, how cool is that? I mean, you could take it as a reference to ‘wanting to break out’, or you could just picture a naked man running through a forest. We prefer the latter.
The band continues: “The shooting was great and we had tons of fun! At this point, we’d like to give a shout-out to Max and Dominik from Art of Sight Productions for hours and hours of hard work! Also, shout-out to the actor, Raphael Steiner, a good friend of ours. He truly was the best person to bring about the story. And only when we watched the scenes for the first time, we realized how dependent a good video is on acting!
We’re just super happy about the result, and hope that our fans, including many new people, will enjoy listening to TSTT.

(review)Nathan Gray-Live in Wiesbaden/Iserlohn(End Hits Records)

Nathan Gray is better known to some people as the singer of BoySetsFire. He is also solo musician and artist and as a celebration of his solo music and the gift to fans, he recorded a double live record which I listened and reviewed for our zine.

2018.was the year of many acoustic punk releases, some better, some not so good. My personal taste is a bit harder steming from hardcore punk and I am not such an avid fan of acoustic punk records, but this one is a beautiful record. It was recorded on Gray˙s sold out solo tour on two beautiful locations in Germany.  The record contains two gigs, the setlist being made of Nathan˙s solo record songs, but also BoySetsFire songs that you rarely or ever hear played live by that band. It is interesting how the same songs on two locations can sound different but raise goosebumps on your skin in both gigs. What is lost in live hardcore punk records nowadays is the talking between the songs and explaining the meaning of the songs and the ideas and philosophy behind the songs and hardcore movement itself. This record has Nathan talking and explaining the meaning of the songs for him and you can feel the vibe all over this record behind the melody, behind the lyrics, that there is something more in our music, in our scene, in our hardcore punk philosophy than mere importance of music. There is also the message, the lifestyle and hope and respect and I love it. Every single day, every single song, every single second.
