(record review)MASKED INTRUDER-III(Pure Noise Records)

Masked Intruder is back! The masked mysterious men just released their brand new album and I listened and reviewed it for our zine.

cover

This brand new album contains 12 songs and those who love this band will love them even more, those that didn´t like them prior to this album will not change their opinion. The Wisconsin based four masked men whose identity is a secret continue to play their vision of pop punk that is ultra melodic and borders with powerpop with great melodies just made for listening on a pretty sunny day and thinking about doing some mischief. You heard the singles All Of My Love and No Case prior to the release of the album, they are in no way the best songs on this record. There are far better melodic pop punk songs in my opinion like  Stay With Me Tonight and Please Come Back. If you are into this kind of punkrock you will love this record. I am eager to check out how this sounds live and I am happy that I will check out this band live at this year´s Punk Rock Holiday in Tolmin, Slovenia. This is a good album.

(record review)Scott Sellers-Being Strange

Scott Sellers, once the guitar/vocalist for Rufio releases his music alone now, for fun, like he says. I listened and reviewed his new album for our zine.

cover

The California based musician made a new album with 11 songs. The music of Scott Sellers is melodic punk, okay you can also call it skatepunk. The songs are varied and the album doesn`t get boring for one second while listening. There is faster material with beautiful melodies and anthemic choruses made for singing along like for example Free which is one of the best songs on this record. Chemistry is also one of the more faster songs with superb melodies, song structure and energy. I must say that when I was a kid one man bands were somehow an abomination for me, I never understood why people do music as a one man band, never playing live, when for example all of my bands main goal was to present our music live for the kids. Now, I look at that picture with different eyes and understand the logic and philosophy behind it, because there are one man bands/projects that are just awesome out there. One of the songs that I must say that stands out is for sure the title song of the record with super combination of guitar and synth melody in part of the song. The music is mostly fast skatepunk, but there is one slower song that touched my heart and that being Hopeless Romantic(no, it is not a cover) which is gentle punkrock song. I love this one.

(record review)Coral Springs-Always Lost, Never Found

Coral Springs from Holland are one of those bands that you fall in love with upon first listening, like I did when I listened and reviewed their new record for our zine. Read further on why and how that happened.

cover

The spring is in the air and winter is dying, air is warm for a long afternoon walk and how it could be better then with some great melodic punkrock band. Coral Springs just released their new record with 12 songs of beautiful melodic punk/pop punk. The vocals on this record provided by the singer Jo are like angels choir to me, they take me to the land of fantasizing and make me believe in better tomorrow. The guitar melodies, harmonies, energy, choruses, everything on this record fits just perfectly and makes you smile and spin the record again and again and again. The best songs on this record in my opinion are I Lost Track, One Gesture and Ghost. Awesome!
