Giorni di Gloria are another little jewel from the mighty Italian punkrock scene with so many bands delivering such great records. This bands is based in Tavullia, Italy and play their vision of fast skatepunk mixed with melodic hardcore. There is an intro plus five songs on this record and the lyrics are in Italian language which unfortunately I don`t speak but is is such a great language for melodic punk because it is so melodic and fantastic to sing in. The song arrangements are great, melody lines are cool and from all the songs my favorites are Giorni di pura follia and Per non morire, but all of the songs are fantastic if you are a fan of more nineties oriented melodic skatepunk with great musicianship, fantastic songs and I can only imagine how great this band sounds live. Really good one!
Fast Lane are coming from Bordeaux, France and they play melodic punkrock with fast skatepunk strong melodies and great vocal lines and harmonies. This new record features twelve excellent fast and energetic songs, just the right measure of speed and melody like I love. What I also love is dual vocals with two different voices that fit just perfectly into the picture of the songs arrangements. The lyrics are personal, about friendship, survival in these fast times that we live in, love for the gigs and traveling, scene, not giving up also love and loss. For me, the best songs on the album that I could recommend to you are The Stars Were In Your Eyes, Angels Are Free, So Stop Bashing Society. Great album!
Delest are from Spain and this is their new e.p. I never listened to this band prior to this record, but now I am glad I found out about them. There is a beautiful piano intro featuring Calos Alvarez and then there are three songs in Spanish language. The title track is a nice piece of melodic punkrock with nice vocal melody lines, backing vocal harmonies and chorus just made for singing along or whistling to the tune. Unfortunately I don`t speak Spanish, so I don˙t get what they are singing about, but I believe the lyrics are personal from what little I can understand from the song titles. The band reminds me a bit of nineties melodic punk bands without much philosophy or metalic parts like it is popular nowadays, just simple punkrock to drive you along. The song called Univer SOS is a perfect example of fast punkrock and my favorite on this record. The song also has such beautiful solo guitar melody line. Cien Mil Veces Mas makes me a bit nostalgic while listening. This is a great e.p. can`t wait for the full length record.
