About The Band:
Formed way back in 1986, Opposition Party started out as a bunch of social misfits expressing their rage at society and the world in general through punk rock. They took their cue from early UK hardcore/punk bands such as The Exploited, GBH, Chaos UK, Broken Bones, English Dogs and amongst others from the second wave of British punk. History was made as Opposition Party attained notoriety as Singapore’s first punk band. Although the early years saw them leaning towards the hardcore side of punk, the band adopted a more metallic edge as the 80’s came to a close. In the 90’s, their unrelenting blend of thrash-metal and hardcore punk, coupled with an “in-your-face” attitude, saw them emerge as one of Singapore’s premier extreme music outfit.
Opposition Party has gone through several line-up changes in its illustrious history; however, the main stalwart has always been Francis Frightful, the original founder-member, who leads the band through each and every milestone. Not only did the band garnered world wide media coverage in the pre-internet boom of the 80’s, the band leader also thought out-of-the-box and made the band’s presence felt even more — very often as the first Singaporean band — by crossing the border to do mini-tours in Malaysia and eventually venturing further to play in the UK, France, Hong Kong and China and taking part in music festivals held in Europe, Taiwan, Korea and Thailand. Opposition Party have since shared the stage with Megadeth, Biohazard, Night Wish, Holy Moses, amongst other notable acts from different parts of the world. Francis Frightful also had a stint in Canadian band, Stress Factor 9, together with Randy Rampage and Ray Hartmann from Annihilator.

(review) superhero status-20/20 (wtf records)

3. WTF-046 cover

WTF Records never cease to amaze with quality new releases and delivering awesome mainly European hardcore punk bands to the attention of the new fans worldwide. This time, Superhero Status are in order with their brand new e.p.

I must admit that I haven`t listened to great old school hardcore for a long time and I am really happy that this record came into my hands. This is just it. Old school positive hardcore like we knew and loved when we were kids growing up with anthemic touch, melody and energy flying all over. There are four songs on this record, one being awesome cover of Iron Maiden-Wasted Years. For me, my personal favorites are True To Our Believes and Miles And Changes, also Never Left with that old school begin of the song that made goosebumps on my skin like a time machine taking me back to the times when I was a kid and reminding me why I love hardcore so much still after all these years. This is a fantastic e.p., I really want to listen to the full length soon.

BREAK ME DOWN – New lyric video for THE POND out now!

ae1c57c1-ec55-47c9-94bd-840cdd0483a1

With the lyric video for The Pond the band ends the cycle of the namesake LP released in late 2019.

In late February, Break Me Down announced a line-up change introducing, to their fans, Veronica as their new singer. Her peculiar bluesy-dark vocal dynamic gives the additional quid that the band was looking for the completion of the project.

The lyric video is a dedication to all the supporting people a band would be nothing without: the fans. Break Me Down will always be grateful to them and declare: “Thank you for all your support, love and explosive energy you show everyday. This new project is dedicated to all of you!”.

Veronica Driven, new singer of the band, says: “I have to admit I was terrified when I first joined the band, given the important history of the group, being accepted by their fanbase was the hardest thing for me! However, I soon discovered that my fears made no sense as the fans showed me right away love and support, on social media following my artist pages, during the shooting for this video and also off stage at my first live performance with the band. Smiles, hugs and handshakes from people I didn’t know, that welcomed me in this big family. The support and messages we have been receiving lately have only proved how much Break Me Down means to their fans. So, we decided to do this video picturing our fans as protagonists in order to thank them for always being there, not only in our good times, but also in the more difficult ones. They all did a great job, and we are so proud and thrilled! We can’t wait to know what you think about it!

Break Me Down are an Alternative Metal band from Milan, born in 2017. Their first EP Resilience was released in January 2018, with subsequent intense live activity that saw them playing in all of Italy, opening for international artists like: Crazy Town, Joe Stump’s Tower of Babel, Vinnie More and Lacuna Coil. In October 2019, Break Me Down released the first LP titled The Pond, receiving very positive reviews from zines of the field.
The tracklist of The Pond is as follows:
1. Your Game
2. If You’re Brave
3. The Noose
4. Nightmare
5. Just Tonight
6. O.C.D.
7. New Hero
8. Goodbye
9. Look @ Me
10. Let It Burn
11. The Pond

The Pond is available on most digital streaming/download platforms worldwide, including Spotify, iTunes, Google Play, Apple Music, Pandora, iHeartRadio, Deezer and Amazon Music.
