“The World of Horror is a short horror story collective for children and adults which features shocking, spooky, and grotesque artwork and monsters from around the world. This collective was assembled by (Reign of Vengeance/Rebirth) frontman Marshall Beck. It features story contributions and tales from Beck as well as many musicians and authors from different cultures around the world. Each different story utilizes a different culture’s monsters or boogeymen to tell shocking, mysterious, and interesting tales. Conjuring the old school nostalgic vibe many of us older Horror and Metalhead fans are familiar with from childhood… this collective is definitely nothing short of odd, interesting, fun, and entertaining.”

New single and album from Bloodlines!
Bloodlines released “Lotus,” the second single from their upcoming EP “HEVEL.” The EP marries classic metal core with a distinctly progressive twist, and sees the Gulf Coast 4-piece taking cues from bands like For Today, Impending Doom and Convictions.
“HEVEL” was written to address seasons of life, with the band taking inspiration from the biblical book of Ecclesiastes.
Ecclesiastes uses the word “meaningless” a lot which is translated to “HEVEL” in Hebrew and has a different interpretation. The word hevel in the context of the book means vanishing vapor or smoke. So in essence, Ecclesiastes wasn’t necessarily saying that the work and the seasons we go through in life are meaningless, but rather they are just fleeting, ever changing. Like vapor, here one minute and gone the next.
The EP will be released November 12.
(review) Venerea – The Shit Hits The Fans
There was a time in the nineties when we thought that Swedes have melodic punk as class in school with so many bands coming from that country. Venerea are veterans of melodic skatepunk/hardcore and they recently released their new full length. Yes, you guessed it, the Swedes play melodic skatepunk hardcore with superb vocal lines, fantastic harmonies and anthemic songwriting, not unlike Satanic Surfers, if I must compare them to some band. Songs like Rise With The Tide, No Rules But My Rules, Living It For The Moment are sure to win you over with awesome musicianship and songs that just make you wanna listen to them over and over again. This is for sure one of the best releases in this genre to come out this year.
