(review) The Obliteroids – Night

The Obliteroids are hailing from Anderson, South Carolina. This is their new release containing 8 songs of punk rock, kind of mixture between street punk, especially in vocals and rawer guitar work, horror punk and yes, you read it right, synth punk. This is not your typical horror punk clone band, it is quite original in some song rhythm and change from almost scifi movie soundtrack to punk rock. The lyrics deal with serial killers, being yourself in awesome allegory Creature, phantoms, great songs like The Ballad of Cindy and Fred, my personal favorite The Wax Phantom or Slasher Meets Werewolf. I love the use of piano intros some samples and clever use of synths to add to the aggression where needed, but also to add some melody and melancholy where needed making me remember why I love horror punk so much in first place. This one is for name your price on Bandcamp, so go listen and show some love. I am sure the guys in the band will appreciate it.
