(review) Death Cassette – ‘Get Rid Of It’ (High End Denim Records)

Death Cassette is a punk band from Winnipeg Manitoba and this is their sophomore release containing six songs. The music is a mixture of energetic melodic punk rock, garage punk and even some grungy moments thrown in for good measure. Vocals are raspy and angry but hit melody when needed in the song structure. The singer’s voice is at the same time enchanting and also energetic and angry like punk music should be. Music is fast and uptempo punk with lots of catchy guitar parts and hooks. Lyrics are emotional and personal and I think that most of us can relate to the themes of songs like my personal favorites ‘Reflector’, ‘Get Gone’ or ‘Solstice’. But, you will have to find out your favorites when you grab this record and have a listen.
