Vocalist Tom Weaver comments: “There are a handful of songs on How To Disappear that stem from the breakdown of my most recent relationship. This is the first on the record to touch on that, and it deals broadly with the extreme apathy and self-destructiveness that arises during a depressive episode; and how that impacts those closest to you.

Often, when experiencing an episode of depression, my first reaction is generally to dissociate and distance myself from the world. That’s far easier to do when living alone; but when cohabiting (and particularly while isolating during the pandemic), it meant my partner would be subject to this level of apathy that felt impermeable to physical nor emotional pain. A type of numbness that would completely detach me from the reality of my life.

“This song is definitely an embellishment of those experiences; and doesn’t discuss the situation from a single perspective. It floats between the apathetic and the empath.

‘Bite Through My Tongue’ follows the band’s previous single and album title track, which has seen huge radio support from Jack Saunders (Future Artists), Nels Hylton (Future Alternative) Daniel P Carter (Rock Show) Alyx Holcombe (Introducing Rock) on BBC Radio 1, and many more.

Casey will be taking the album on a host of UK, European, Australian and North America tour dates in 2024.

The news follows a joyous return for the quintet in 2023, including seven huge shows in the UK and Germany, and the limited release of their 7” Atone/Great Grief (Hassle Records).

Casey, at its core, was grounded in the notion that music is a labour of love. Without expectation of success, without desire to attain stardom, just a shared yearning to create music – and when this no longer rang true Casey stayed true to themselves, and stepped away.

In late 2018, when Casey announced they were bringing the band to a close, it felt like a premature demise. Their first two LPs – 2016 Love Is Not Enough and 2018’s Where I Go When I Am Sleeping – had firmly established the Welsh five-piece as one of the most exciting bands in Britain’s alternative scene.

Now, years later, the band have returned – bigger and better than ever before. Casey don’t just replicate the feelings that inspire them – they embody them.

Chilean Funeral Death/Doom Metal Horde MORNING DEAD Unleashes Official Video “Grito Del Alma” Off Upcoming Album “Desde El Otro Lado”!

Along its 10 tracks and over 38 minutes of playing time, “Desde El Otro Lado” gives fresh air to the death/doom genre, thanks to the presence of keyboards and guitars that influence each other, giving a strong level of emotion to the band’s sound.

Desde El Otro Lado” (eng: “from the other side”) is a work composed of diverse sensory passages interpreted through an overwhelming doom metal atmosphere, which takes as inspiration the sea and southern winds from Chile. It’s a journey that immerses you in introspection and density, represented, as seen in the marvelous cover, by a solitary being staring heartlessly at an infinite horizon.

The album was recorded at Sound Pro studio by Cristian Brintrup, between August 2021 and January 2022. Mixed and mastered by B. Barrantes at Necrotic Estudio, between October 2022 and May 2023.

MORNING DEAD is:

Sebastián Ocampo – Bass, Vocals

Oscar Gibert – Guitars

Eneas – Guitars

Ange – Keys

Claudio Morales – Drums

Instrumental Alternative Rock Alchemists TRILOBEAT Sign With Epictronic

Instrumental alternative rock phenomenon TRILOBEAT has signed a deal with Epictronic for the reissue of their masterpiece “Extinction Horizon”, due for re-release on January 26, 2024.
Trilobeat is an emerging band based in Slovakia, which crosses borders with its new ambitious album and establishes cooperation with musicians all over the world. They create and perform genre-blending instrumental music supported by emotional visual projection. Their work has attracted music fans of prog-rock, nu-jazz, alternative, and even classical music.

The band’s second album, “Extinction Horizon” was released via the prestigious Slovak label Hevhetia and is being distributed worldwide by Epictronic. It boasts of a collaboration between both local and international talents featuring names such as Adam Holzman, keyboardist (Steven Wilson, Miles Davis, Trifecta), and David Kollar, guitarist (KOMARA, Steven Wilson, Erik Truffaz) in addition to the original line-up.

The album is an impressive sound adventure, while their compositions combine variable electronic surfaces, a distinct piano sound, and a rough rock background. The outstanding world-class sound quality of the recording was created in cooperation with the multi-genre Toronto-based producer, Vlad Avy (Iamthemorning, Gleb Kolyadin).

Unlike their debut, in which they looked to the past, with the new album they decided to explore current themes that resonate among society. The album takes its name from the black ash line that signals the demise of civilization during archaeological excavations. Trilobeat offers a concept album that forms a unified musical narrative mapping the theme of the climate crisis and the fate of our civilization.“When composing, we tried to answer a question that was crucial to us – can instrumental music be a messenger of powerful current scenarios?” explains composer and pianist Jakub Mikula. Based on the reactions so far, the answer seems to be yes. But what is even more important – Trilobeat with its new work has brought an incredibly varied mosaic of feelings from contemporary times, which despite its complexity is listened to with unprecedented pleasure and lightness.
The original line-up (Jakub Mikula – piano, Katarína Mikulová – flute and vocals, Norbert Neuschl – bass, Marek Sasko – drums) has been expanded on the new album to include guests from both the Slovak and the international scene. The key to the album is the collaboration with guitarist David Kollar, a unique music visionary from Slovakia, author of excellent albums, and collaborations with Steven Wilson, Erik Trufazz, Pat Mastelotto, and Marco Minnemann.
“Compared to the debut album, we experimented more with noises and field recordings, while also exploring a heavier sound. With some of the tracks we felt that David’s tone and unique style of guitar playing would fit perfectly,” explains Jakub, on the idea of approaching him. David ended up enriching three tracks on the album, with an epic solo enclosing the pilot single “The Red”.
“We still can’t quite believe that you’re going to hear a keyboard solo from mastermind Adam Holzman on our new album,” he continues. “This genius has been an integral part of the evolution of the jazz-fusion scene and has played alongside such greats as Miles Davis, Marcus Miller, and Michel Petrucciani. He has been a member of Steven Wilson’s band since 2011 and has recorded several award-winning albums with him.” His solo on Moog synthesizer awaits you in the track “The Black”.
