(movie) Dead Zone(2022) is another failed post apocalyptic infection zombie flick!

Not to be confused with same titled Stephen King´s legendary novel and movie, this one is a lame attempt at just another post infection zombie vs special forces movie. A team of special ops soldiers must enter the zone where supposedly all the infected fast running zombies are killed by a blast, called Dead Zone. Their mission is to take new vaccines out and save the world. As it goes in movies such as this, their plans complicate as they are taken one by one by mutants, virus and zombies. This is a cheap ass bad story movie, Michael Jai White and Jeff Fahey only appear a little to justify their names on poster. Everything mostly happens in dark and dim lighted rooms of an abandoned building which plays a science facility in this movie. Zombies are totally no see, in shadow running in impossible angles and main mutant villain is just bad. This is a bad one indeed. Avoid!

(movie) The Twin (2022) is an atmospheric psychological horror tale set in Finland!

After the loss of their son Nathan, married couple move to Finland with their survived son, Elliot, who is Nathan´s twin brother. There in the north of Finland, couple seeks to find solace and deal with grief and loss. But, sinister forces are at work. Elliot starts to behave weird, claiming that he is Nathan and Anthony, the husband becomes estranged and somehow stops taking notes of Rachel´s search for truth. The townsfolk are weird and just stand in front of the house and watch. Is there a way to bring Nathan back, sell your soul or sacrifice everything?

Well, this one was your average folk psychological horror tale like so many others. Meaning, desolate place, cultists, ancient beliefs, pagan lore, family which tries to cope with loss and grief. But, the twist in the end of the movie somehow saves it to be a bit above average and saves the movie in making it a decent one. Teresa Palmer(Warm Bodies, Lights Out) is good, Steven Cree(Outlaw King, Maleficent) somehow does not manage to have chemistry with Palmer´s character Rachel. Directed by Taneli Mustonen(Lake Bodom).

(movie review) Burial(2022) is one of the best war movies I have watched in last couple of years!

Wow! This is only thing I can say about this one, after I watched it. I first thought this one was one of those Russian propaganda action war westerns with pathos and not much to tell, but I was wrong. This is a movie directed by Ben Felton, writer of Girl On The Third Floor which I liked, horror starring wrestler CM Punk. The story of this one is based upon one of the greatest WWII mysteries, being the whereabouts of Adolf Hitler´s remains. Story goes like this: In 1945, after the fall of Berlin, a group of Soviet soldiers is given a mission to deliver a casket to Stalin. Every night they bury the casket, only to dig it up again, so if they are killed in their sleep the casket remains hidden. As is clichee in most mission war movies, they fight amongst themselves with some of the men unable to cope with the fact that Brana Vasylieva(Charlotte Vega of Wrong Turn remake) leads them into mission. They wander in one remote Polish village where a gang of Werwolf, Nazi guerillas stalk them and try to wipe them out one by one. They desperately try to protect the casket and mission at all cost.

Although this movie suffers from some holes in story, for example the bad guys agenda is not really clear why they want to do with the casket what they plan to do, this is a more than decent war action/adventure with good a bit clicheed characters, but indeed a story told good, being a story that old Brana tells to the skinhead which broke into her house at night in nowadays London. Action scenes are superb, especially final shootout in an abandoned church and it delivers one version of the myth about Hitler and his mortal remains. Actors are good, even Tom Felton(Draco Malfoy of Harry Potter movies) is decent as a Polish Volksdeutscher deserter who helps Brana and her soldiers. Good one.
