Finnish Glam-punks Trashcan Dance released a new Killing Moon album!

Promo pic by Marco Lindholm

Helsinki-based glam-punks Trashcan Dance release their new full length album Killing Moon through the Greek metal label Sleaszy Rider Records on October 6th 2023.

The album includes the singles “Go-go Dancer”, “Lil’ Dreamer” (featuring Niki Rock) and “Polezhaevskaya Station” (in collaboration with the synth wave-band Stealth Division).

Killing Moon is a collection of 12 shock & murder-themed tracks with nods to villains and heroes of popular culture horror classics – from Alfred Hitchcock and Ruggero Deodato to classic 1980’s Commodore-64 video game “It Came From the Desert”.

Trashcan Dance aim to shock and entertain in equal measure and the songs are highly danceable and suitable for nights of serious beer drinking and hell raising. In the footsteps of bands like Lords of the New Church, TurbonegroAlice Cooper and Hanoi Rocks, Killing Moon adds an unhealthy dose of sleaze, grime and aggression.

The album is available on CD, vinyl and download as well as the usual streaming services.

Hardcore Superstar confirmed to Time To Rock!

Swedish rock heroes Hardcore Superstar confirmed!

It”s been a few years since the last time, so we thought it was about time again for this bunch of real rock stars! Hardcore Superstar was formed in 1997. Since the beginning, the Gothenburg band”s permanent members have been singer Joakim Berg and bassist Martin Sandvik. Next year, Magnus “Adde” Andreasson celebrates 25 years on the drum stand, and already this year, guitarist Vic Zino, has his 15th anniversary in the band. Between 1998 and 2003 Hardcore Superstar released four records. In 2005, the band did a “Metallica” and released their self-titled and, coincidentally(?), black record. As a result, the band”s popularity among Sweden”s rock fans increased. Since the album contains songs like “Kick On the Upper Class”, “Wild Boys”, “We Don”t Celebrate Sundays” and “My Good Reputation”, you can understand why. The eleventh full-length was named “You Can”t Kill My Rock N” Roll” and came out in 2018, and the following year the gang visited the Helgeåfestivalen for the third time. In 2022, the latest album came out, entitled “Abrakadabra” and now it”s time again, this time on Time To Rock. And of course it”s time to rock when you hear good songs like “Dreamin” in A Casket”, “Last Call For Alcohol”, “Don”t Mean Shit”, or why not any of the above mentioned masterpieces. We are proud to have the band back with us in Knislinge!

Experience the triumphant return of Factory, the rock band that originated in Hastings, UK, in the ’70s

Factory, a rock band originally formed in Hastings, UK, in the ’70s, and re-formed in 2015, return with their new album, “Aiming High”. Aiming High is an album with something for everyone – positive vibes, adventurous rock and catchy hooks, delivered with superb musicianship and vocals.

The band members have been friends since teenagers, and after much success going their separate ways, (with Icehouse, Hazel O’Connor, Edgar Winter, Manfred Mann’s Earth Band, plus co-writing John Farnham’s You’re The Voice), decided to reunite many years later.

In their early days they were a busy touring band, supporting Fleetwood Mac, Status Quo, The Scorpions, Suzi Quatro, 10cc etc, and were the test band for Roger Daltrey’s home studio, but they never made an album.

All the original members are still there – TONY QUNTA – lead guitar, electric violin & vocals ANDY QUNTA – keyboards, electric 12-string guitar, vocals LAURIE COOKSEY – drums & vocals GEOFF “Jaffa” PECKHAM – bass & vocals plus Jaffa’s replacement from ’74-’76, bassist STEVE KINCH (from Manfred Mann’s Earth Band)

BACK IN THE TIME MACHINE

After 45 years of incubation, Factory finally felt that the world was ready to hear the band’s musical creations. With the help of that Internet thingy, Andy, Lol, Tone and Jaffa reconnected as the original lineup of the band. They confessed that they had each always wanted to reunite to record an album and play live together.

As Andy was stuck in LA (poor chap,) the other three started rehearsing from the summer of 2014. In March 2015, Andy crossed the pond and the band spent a week in an undisclosed location somewhere in France for intense rehearsals after which they played an emotional gig in a bar nearby, Andy then returned to the US.

That October, Factory resurfaced in the UK as a four-piece again. After a few days of rehearsal, they entered Broadoak Studios. Under the guidance of the all-knowing Harvey Summers, they proceeded to record the long awaited album.

All the songs had been performed during Factory’s first incarnation (1970-76) and were faithfully remembered and relearned using old studio reel-to-reels and a cassette tape of a 1974 live gig recorded in Peterborough UK found in various cellars and attics.
