(news/new video)Abandoned By Bears Debut New Video and Album Details on Victory Records

For a band that’s been together since 2012, ABANDONED BY BEARS is just hitting their prime with ‘Headstorm,’ their spirited new single out today. The track comes from their upcoming sophomore album, Headstorm, set for release on August 24, 2018.

“Even if you have the clearest view on life, on what you want to reach or where you want to go, new obstacles will come along setting you off course. ‘Headstorm’ is about taking the most important goal of your life and keep striving for it when this mystery called life throws you curve balls,” laments bassist Gustav Ericksson. “The video speaks for itself. We took a look at today’s pop culture to poke fun at situations you would see a more ‘baller’ artist in. It’s all in good fun and we had a blast making it!”

Fronted by the dual vocal combo of Leon Ekelund and Fredric Andersson, ABANDONED BY BEARS is rounded out by guitarist Jacob Devinder and Max Fahlman on drums. The Swedish noise mob released The Years Ahead in 2016 under Victory Records and spent a quarter of that year in the US touring ever possible corner. They returned in 2017 for another taste of America before closing out the year with their first ever tour of the UK. Due to overwhelming demand, the UK will receive the first taste of Headstorm as the Swede’s invade Europe starting July 1st. Plans for their third US visit are in the works for this fall.

The band says, “From June 22-July 14, we’ll be heading out west to play our brand new self-titled record front to back! Our friends in Rain in July will be joining us on select dates!”

Chin Up, Kid was formed in 2013. They shortly after released their debut EP, ‘Home Advantage.’ They showed success throughout playing many shows in Indiana including their local stop of the 2015 Vans Warped Tour. In 2016, the band again self-released another EP titled, ‘The Way You Live Is Common.’ After a few lineup changes, Chin Up, Kid began writing for what would become their full-length label debut, ‘Swing With Your Eyes Closed’.

Throughout the past few years of experimentation, Chin Up, Kid has finally found their final form and their ideal chemistry. After closing the ‘Swing With Your Eyes Closed’ era, they created a signature sound for themselves. The events that transpired over those few months brought them back into the studio to create what would become their second full-length record. Chin Up, Kid’s brand new self-titled full-length album is out June 22 through Standby Records.

(new lyric video-melodic punk)Chaser (DS Records) premieres lyric video for “The Show” on PunkNews

Southern California skate-punk act CHASER have premiered a lyric video for a brand new track off their upcoming release on DYING SCENE RECORDS & EFFERVESCENCE RECORDS. “The Show” is their homage to the annual tradition of punk rock festival pilgrimage. Doesn’t matter if your festival of choice is PRB, Fest, Punk In Drublic, or Punk Rock Holiday, you’re going to relate to this song.
Of the song, the band writes:
“The Show” pays tribute to some of our favorite moments growing up. The sun is shining, the music is blasting and we’re shoulder to shoulder with thousands of people singing along. Warped Tour started it all for us, and luckily, the rise of these modern day festivals has filled the void. We’re all grown up now, and expected to take it easy, but you can’t take the punk rock out of the boy. So you’ll still find us crowd surfing, pitting, stage diving, and singing every word. “And we will stay forever this way!”  In the bridge, our singer Mike LeDonne sings, “I’ll be in the pit and taking hits,” and I chime in with “I’ll stay at the barricade”, which is actually how it usually happens when we go to shows together.
