Finnish punkroll band UGLY PUNCH is set to release self-titled EP later in 2024. The first single Bad Boy is released today via Secret Entertainment and music video is available here: https://youtu.be/xIA4CN6cNoc

The band comments:
” “Bad Boy” is the first single from the forthcoming self-titled EP. This song gets straight to the point and gives a good taste of what it’s all about. So the name of the game is dirty punkroll, combining old and new sounds with a personal touch. The backbone of the song is a combination of a strong bass pattern and a rolling drum beat. It combines with guitar and saxophone to create a sparse soundscape, finished off with a personal and playful vocal interpretation.”

UGLY PUNCH is a band with roots in groovy rock and punk music. I guess you could say a kind of “punkroll” sound with a personal touch. This gang was founded in 2023, but they all have a long history in music. Our base is a great space in the middle of the forest in Tampere.

The goal is to keep our music accessible and something that is easy to get under your feet. Also, that there’s a certain good vibe about what we do and that we don’t take ourselves too seriously.

Nevertheless, we do this with all our heart and soul.
The first self-titled ep will be released in early 2024. A full-length album is also planned and will be released in the coming year.

THE HAPTICS: Explores Toxic Relationships in Their Newest Single & Video ‘Mouse’

“Mouse” is at heart a song about toxic relationships and the power plays that accompany them. It explores the topics of boundaries, consent, and commitment. It also posits a strong opinion that one should fight back against the bonds that hold, and break them. It’s not just romantic relationships it describes – familial relationships can often have an edge to them that is difficult to maneuver as well.

There’s a give and take that becomes second-nature to either party after a time. When you’re committed to preserving the relationship, you have to work to control the anger that arises from time to time. This recognition of inner violence is a recurring theme in a few of our songs. It’s our attempt to describe that wild feeling you feel: a sort of boundless energy and rage that makes you fly off the wall. Any kind of relationship involves power dynamics, some more pleasurable than others.

Mouse explores the what-ifs: what if you enjoy the toxicity? What if you dive into that anger? What if, in some way, you need that challenge in your life? This is our tribute to that feeling.
