Time for something energetic and strong to grace the pages of this zine, and no, it is not energy drink or similar hehe. No, it is the brand new record by Bruise Control from Manchester that comes out with TNSrecords. This one contains nine song of utmost punk raw energy reminding us why we love punk rock so much in first place. This is a mixture of punk rock and raw garage punk, seasoned with hardcore punk fervour and ferocity of melody occasionally appearing in the song structures. Vocals are nice, shouted and sometimes screamed yet retaining enough melody to be appealing to fans of more melodic side of punk things. First thing for this album is, great songwriting and I can only imagine how these songs sound performed live on stage with band and crowd interacting together. That is for sure phenomenal, hope to witness live energy of this band some day. Heavy hitters like ‘Bottom Feeder’, ‘Never Again’ or ‘Dead On Arrival’ are something to keep your ears peeled for. In some parts this band reminds me of great Croatian band, Eke Buba concerning speed and energy delivering much in very short span of time. Superb album by superb band.

(review) Mein Herz In Flammen – ‘Herz’
Hardcore lives! Alive and well, this is one more band from mighty German scene. Mein Herz In Flammen(eng. My Heart In Flames) released their EP called ‘Herz'(eng Heart). This little beauty contains four songs of ferocious hardcore sung in German language and I think German is great for hardcore and punk rock, I love listening bands who sing in their native language. Since I speak German, lyrics deal with emotions, memories, fighting for survival, friendship, enduring in this world and so on. Music is fast and furious hardcore punk, a kind of mixture of old and new school, metalized and street punk smartwise hardcore with angry vocals and some sing along backing vocals par excellence. Unlike many today’s bands, you can feel original hardcore spirit in this one. This is sheer energy, bomb of hardcore punk for your listening, screaming and moshing pleasure!
(review) Karaba F.C. – ‘April Dancer’
Karaba F.C. are coming from France, Paris/Brest area and this is their brand new EP containing six songs. The music of this band can be described as melodic post punk with dramatic and intense songs, leaning also on pop punk sensibility and nineties emo core influences in the song structures. Some of the songs are more up tempo punk rock with hardcore roots, but some are spacy, rolling emotional post hardcore not unlike Croatian bands Dead Dog Summer and Trophy Jump in a way. Vocals are very important in this kind of music and I like the vocals of this band. This singer is neither crying nor too snotty, this is strong voice with melodic singing when needed and screaming and shouting when needed. Lyrics are personal and deal with themes that I can relate to as a person and I learned to love such bands singing about themes like that. My personal favorite on this one are: ‘Medication’, ‘Pain & Pleasure’ and ‘Pictures Of Us’. Great little EP.
