Chuck Schuldiner did so much for extreme metal scene in his short life before he unfortunately passed away. But, his work with Death and Control Denied will never be forgotten in hearts, minds and ears of metal fans throughout the world, being one of pioneers of death metal scene back in the eighties and nineties with his progressive melodic death metal being so unique, so special and beautiful. I usually don´t like to review compilations but this one is a real who is who and fine piece of record in one place. From Mayhem, Sepultura, Epica, Acheron, Sinister, Atrocity, Desaster, Neurosis….this is a heartfelt and warm tribute to one of the metal´s forever legends. List of the songs is a probably Death´s greatest hits list and I wish personally that some songs were on it that they didn´t include but in all, because some of the songs are represented twice with different band, but no matter. This is an impressive tribute with impressive line-up.
The third single from Dagger Threat before the official digital release of their new album ‘Weltschmerz‘ is released with a music video that shows the strength of Dagger Threat’s powerful performance, fast metallic riffs, crashing drums that leave the metal listener breathless. Aggressive lyrics that focus on the downfall of humanity and the world complete the musical beast. With todays video launch drops also the official PRE-ORDER for DT’s new Album at BDHW Records HERE
Deathhammer from Norway is the spawn of two individuals called Sergeant Salsten and Sadomancer. From music, vocals to album cover, this opus, fifth full length in band´s history is total old school warfare as the title says. For those who don´t know, Deathhammer play old school mixture of energetic thrash and black metal with some eighties UK hardcore punk thrown in here and there. Think Bathory, think old Destruction and Sodom, Evil Dead, this one is a keeper. This record is full on high energy attack with songs like Return to Sodom/Soldiers of Darkness, Rapid Violence and Crushing the Pearly Gates, making your fist pump in the air, metal heart smile with joy and scream at the top of your lungs along with the lyrics and stomp on your neighbour´s head with speakers to the maximum. This is an excellent album and I recommend all of the opuses of this Norway´s old schoolers.
