(record review)COLORSFADE-In Real Time(Thousand Islands Records)

Colorsfade released their new record through Thousand Islands Records and I enjoyed to listen and review the record for our zine, so read on.

cover

I love Canadian punk hardcore scene so much! So many awesome bands coming out, besides the old legendary bands, so many new and still unexplored music and awesome bands put out their records constantly and I really enjoy to discover new bands.

Colorsfade play melodic and fast, but very tight hardcore punk. This record contains 11 songs of highly contagious melodies, memorable choruses just made for singing along and jumping around at the gigs. The guitar work is awesome and there are so many beautiful hooks in the songs and I love every single minute of this album. There are couple of guest performances on the album like Vince from Our Darkest Days and Doowy from Down Memory Lane. The lyrics are pretty politically engaged and I love that because many bands discard that punk should be political at some times. This band managed to find a perfect mix between politics and personal. There are some songs that I must mention here that somehow stand out for me as the highlights of this album. Those are Take Your Time, Loaded For Peace and Frozen In Time. This is a very strong album and I reccomend thjs one to all of you who love your music fast and melodic.

(record review)EL ESCAPADO-THE NOT SO FULL-FULL LENGTH EP

Do you remember El Escapado? We already interviewed those guys for this zine when they were heading on their European tour. Now, they have a new record out and I listened to it and reviewed it for this webzine.

cover

The band comes from Nashville area, USA. This record has a funny name and it is just what it says, neither an e.p., nor a full record. The record contains 8 songs and the music is melodic and fast paced hardcore punk not unlike early Nofx but retaining a healthy dose of originality and vibe. There is a great fose of humour in the lyrics from the intro to the outro. That last song if we can call it that was just too long and too boring but I guess the guys wanted it just like that. I love this band and I love this record, it is an awesome piece of melodic hardcore punk. Top songs: Willett in Dresden, Sedition.

(record review)UNIFORMS-Reasons To Breathe(Make That A Take Records/TNSrecords)

Uniforms are punk band from the east coast of Scotland. This is their new record out on Make That A Take Records and TNSrecords and I listened and reviewed it for our zine.

cover

Formed in 2011.these guys spent four years recording, touring and playing more than 200 gigs in UK, USA and Europe. They disbanded in 2015. Now, reformed in late 2017.with new vigour and strength they released their new e.p. with four songs. The music Uniforms play is melodic punkrock, but not fast skatepunk or technical stuff, but melodic and heartfelt punkrock with emotions behind the songs and done in a way that will appeal to the ears of every fan of such music. I am going to say that although all four songs on the record are great, two songs were highlights for me. Those are My Wise Friend and Searchlights. The vocals are rough but at the same time melodic and when you listen to the songs, the music somehow pulls you in and soothes you but at the same time gives you that warm punk energy to flow through your body. Welcome back Uniforms, nice to have you again on the scene.
