VÆGTLØS (post-metal/HC/blackgaze) released second song from new album “Aftryk”

After playing their first show in June 2022 things started to take off for Vægtløs. After their first show they were asked to play support for shoegaze legends Nothing. And then all has started to spread by interviews and features from different magazines around the world. In 2022 they released split with Mill & Taagebue and 7″ EP titled “Kakofoni“. After almost 2 years, Vægtløs is back with brand new record titled “Aftryk“.Music was recorded by Vægtløs & Rasmus Glassau Clausen. All was mixed and mastered by Jacob Bredahl (HateSphere, Horned Almighty). Cover artwork was done by Jon Gotlev (Møl). Band comments: “The record is a melodic and vast sound that is forged to enclose the personal Danish lyrics about people close to the band who died or suffered deadly diseases. The inspiration to do so has been found in watching and expericering the unadulterated beauty of life and death. Originally each song was named after the person that band sang about, but that was changed to more fitting titles” Album “Aftryk” will be released February 2, 2024 digitally, on tape, CD and 12″ vinyl by over 40 worldwide labels (list of the labels under 1st single video). (movie) Hell House LLC II: The Abaddon Hotel(2018.)

Kada sam već krenuo, rekoh sebi hajde da pogledam cijeli serijal, cijelu franšizu ovog found footage horrora. U drugom nastavku doznajemo više o Andrew Tullyu i njegovom zlom kultu koji je vodio Abaddon Hotel i otvorio vrata Pakla tamo. Film zapravo nekako na pomalo zbrkan način prati trostruku timeline radnju, jedno je emisija u kojoj se vodi rasprava o Abaddon Hotelu, jedno je ekipa istraživača koja se našla zarobljena u užasima Abaddon Hotela, treće je priča o tome kako je sve to počelo i zašto se to radi.

Ono što je dobro u ovom filmu je priča, napeti story koji me držao prikovanim za ekran i željom da saznam još i još o nesretnom ukletom hotelu. Ono što nije dobro je prevelika zbrkanost između ta dva, odnosnoo tri timelinea i na momente se gubi film i nije jasno što se zapravo događa u kojem timelineu, dal je to napravljeno namjerno ili nije, nisam siguran. Gore scena nema baš, ali ima tog hinted horrora ili atmosferičnog horrora koji mene ispunjava kada gledam found footage podvrstu horrora zbog čega mi i i je jedna od najdražih podžanrova horrora uz slasher. Najveće razočarenje dobrog filma mi je loš kraj, koji nekako ruši sve dobro što je prije izgrađeno. Kraj naravno ostavlja prostora za nastavak ovog filma koji je mogao biti puno bolji nego je ispao.

Zaključak: 5,5/10 sjekira – zbog lošeg kraja filma niža ocjena, šteta!

Finnish Garden of Stone released Idol of Flesh single – The debut EP Tides of Decay out on February!

The Finnish melancholic metal band Garden of Stone is set to release their debut EP ‘Tides of Decay’ on February 15th 2024 via Inverse Records. The second single Idol of Flesh is released today with lyric video: https://youtu.be/oFHPsf3i5AM

“Idol of Flesh is the second single from Garden of Stone’s upcoming debut EP, Tides of Decay. The song showcases the band at their heaviest. Where Hymn of a Dead Man Pt.1 is slow and brooding, Idol of Flesh is fast and heavy. The song hits hard at the listener until the heavy guitars and brutal screams turn into a soft embrace of clean guitar and singing melodies. This does not go on for too long, as the song is driven home with the energy that was established at the beginning, without forgetting a breakdown that will make your neck move without your permission.The lyrics handle fear as an entity that is crowned as both the ruler of all and the highest currency.”

BIOGRAPHY:
Garden of Stone is a melodic metal band that weaves together melancholic rock and heavy metal. From the band you can expect brooding atmospheres, beautiful melodies, and face melting riffs.
 

The band was formed in 2023 when guitarists Jere Mäntysalo and Ville Penkari recruited Jesse Salo to sing and scream for their project. Soon after, drummer Tapio Haverinen joined to keep the rhythm department in check. The group was completed when bassist Kalle Hänninen joined to govern the lowest frequencies. Guest drummer Matias Rokio arranged and played the drums for the upcoming EP. The band published their first single, Hymn of a Dead Man Pt.1, in December of 2023, with the EP “Tides of Decay” just around the corner.
