(record review) DAGGER THREAT-Gestaltzerfall(BDHW Rec)

Germany has one of the best hardcore scenes in the world and every day new bands come out. This time I reviewed the debut full length by Dagger Threat, out with BDHW Records.

These guys are from Hamburg and were formed in 2016. After two ep-s, it is time for their debut full length to see the light of the day. The music is a crossover between modern hardcore and metal with a lot of breakdowns, metalic mosh parts, but also catchy hardcore roots underneath it all. The album contains 11 songs and I would call it brutal hardcore. The album is varied and it does not get boring. I love the aggression of Twist And Turns, the calm piano intermezzo of Treatment giving the record atmospheric and kinda mystic vibe too. Dystopia is for me the best song on the record with awesome interplay between brutal and clean vocals added to cool guitar riffs. The lyrics are in English and they are more personal about fighting your own inner demons, but there is also social criticism too. This is a great record for all the fans of modern and brutal hardcore.
