Antipathic are American-Italian band and this is their fourth opus. These brand new four songs e.p. features brutal death metal mixed with some slamming influences, also some samples in couple of songs and even some melody in guitar work like in my personal favorite which happens to be the title song. Lyrically, band continues where they left off with their last release speaking about inevitable machine take over of the world and end of all humanity. This is not your typical brutal death metal, nor it is boring slam death metal band, this is a quality top notch four songs e.p. with blistering blast beats, moshing parts, thrash influenced fast solos and superb brutal vocalist. So go get it.
Silent Obssession is a technical brutal death metal project hailing from Algeria and it is always nice to have bands from countries not so near and distant scenes we don´t know much about. There are three songs on this little opus, one being kinda intro and other two, namely End of an Era and Exhausted Resources being a mixture of brutality through well executed musicianship and atmosphere of hopeless despair. End of an Era is more straightforward old school death metal destroyer, while Exhausted Resources is more technical, even groovy in parts with some thrash metal influences thrown in here and there for good measure. Great death metal from distant Algeria.
Hollowed Idols released their new e.p. via Rotted Life and I listened to it and reviewed it for this webzine.
The quartet is hailing from Mississippi area and the guys play foul and dirty technical death metal but don´t be mistaken, this is not some amateur stuff, this is high class pumping U.S. death metal underground star that shines its dark light upon the scene. The record contains 4 songs from the e.p. and three demo version of that songs. The production is raw, murky but aggressive with blast beats, guttural vocals, some almost thrash metal guitar solo work and if I must compare this record to some bands, it would be early Incantation and similar U.S. death metal behemoths. I am not really fan of such metal, I prefer more melody and more drama and more style, but this is good record for the fans of underground death metal.
