(review) Lionheart-Valley Of Death

529440

Lionheart are from California and this is their seventh album. These pioneers of metalic hardcore/crossover deliver 10 songs of no holds barred, relentless hardcore with roots in street smartness and concrete jungle survival instinct. The music is modern hardcore with brutal grooves, moshing parts, yet also some catchy guitar riffs and angry, sing along shouted vocals that fit perfectly to the music. Check out the title song for which a video was made, or fantastic Rock Bottom featuring guest Jesse Barnett, also When I Get Out if you want to feel tour de force of modern hardcore with guts, grit and glory. I am sure this band sounds fantastic live and I will definitely check them out.  This one is a sure winner.

(record review)SENF-Cinik e.p.

There is no global scene without supporting your local scene and little bands that your friends play in, global scene is in fact the network of such bands, so I present you Senf, the band from the town Varaždin, Croatia and I listened and reviewed their new e.p. for our zine.

This is the third e.p. from the guys and I already wrote about the last one here. Senf is a band that has experienced guys that are in the scene for a long time now, from bands Rectal Destroyer, Fajrunt, The Hangover, Alkotest…This band plays crossover hardcore punk with a lot of metalic parts, stoner parts and pretty brutal vocals courtesy of their vocalist Ivda. But, at the same time their music has that melody and haunting way of playing, the line that is similar to all of the Varaždin bands with excellent musicianship, these guys can really play. This e.p. contains 6 songs, okay 5 plus a cover of old band Skorbut from Varaždin. My personal favorites from this record are Pas and Japa. The lyrics are in Croatian language, mainly satire, cynism, but there are a lot of contemporary themes that can be read between the lines if you know what I mean. Senf grows from e.p. to e.p. and I can safely say that this is their best material to date. Check this one out!

(record review)BLAST BOMB-Burn History & Live Today(Undead Artists)

Blast Bomb have a new record blasting your way via Undead Artists and I was one of the lucky ones who listened to the record and reviewed it for this zine.

blast bomb cover

Blast Bomb are from Hamburg, Germany and they have much of a rock n roll attitude in their music, being the mixture of punkrock, crossover and even having some stoner parts. The four songs on this record are raw sounding and dirty rockin pieces of music, but do not be fooled. Underneath all that rawness and dirty guitar lie excellent heartfelt melodies, excellent lyrics and well placed guitar hooks that make you want to listen more and just can˙t wait for the full length to come out. For me personally, the best song on this record is Live Today sounding, this is just me, like a mixture of Body Count and Suicidal Tendencies. In my opinion this song differs a bit from the rest of the material, but maybe I am just imagining. Don`t get me wrong, all of the songs on this record are awesome. Get the record and discover it yourself!
