Nordend are from German hardcore scene and this is their new e.p. containing five songs. I love this one. It is a perfect mixture of modern melodic hardcore with some metal and street punk influences, yet retaining one leg firmly into old school hardcore influences. If I must compare them to some band, they reminded me in some parts of Comeback Kid. Lyrics are in German language with vocals which vary from shouted, angry screaming, spoken word and melodic singing, all that meaning singer is fantastic. Energy Nordend delivers is also totally touchable, you can sense it and almost touch it in the air floating around you and in you. Songs are mainly your fast hardcore punk with some excursions into moshing and metalized parts here and there. As I understand and speak German, lyrics deal with personal demons, survival, coping and finding strength to go on and battle depression, everyday and look deep into yourself and transform all hardcore energy and heart into something worth living and positive. My personal favorites are A-Okay and also Selbstportrait. Great record.

(record review)BULLSEYE-Until We Die(Dedication Records)
Bullseye from Hannover, Germany released their new third record with Dedication Records and I listened and reviewed it for our zine.

After some line-up changes the guys released this record to celebrate the diy hardcore punk spirit and keeping the flame alive in the scene. The music of Bullseye is old school hardcore, European school, like it was played in the 90-ies by Ryker´s, Brightside, Right Direction and similar bands. The record contains 12 songs with the lyrical themes being mainly political, against racism, religion, but there are also some personal themes like dealing with death of a loved one, also ecology and against police brutality. The music is pretty brutal, but there are more punk elements in the song structures than metal, so the band stands firmly tied to their punk roots and add a lot of streetpunk elements in the riffs and guitar hooks. For me, the best songs on this record are Rest In Peace, Keep Me Alive and the title track. Good hardcore record for all of you who love your hardcore old school way.

(record review)ManifeStatioN-Fair Enough(Dedication Records)
European hardcore scene is alive and well and pulsing with life and inspiration. ManifeStatioN from Germany release their new record via Dedication Records and it was my privilege to listen to the new record and review it for this webzine.

The Germans from Saarland area started the band in 1996., but the real start of the band goes back in 2001. After several lineup changes and gaining new, fresh blood in the band with the new bass player and drummer in 2016.it was time to reveal the new record.
The record contains 12 songs of hardcore that somehow nostalgically reminds me of the 90-ies but done in a modern and fresh way. If I must compare the music to some bands which I hate doing, then it would be early Madball, Ryker˙s and Brightside. That means brutal, groovy and aggressive hardcore but also with some surprising melodic undertones like for example in excellent There´s a Light for which the video was made and you can watch it below. The vocals are angry, shouted with gang back vocals here and there just made for singing along at the gigs. I also feel the European hardcore spirit from the 90-ies like in the song called False Mirror. I love the mix of brutality and anthemic melody in Time Through My Hands. For me one of the absolute highlights of this record is for sure Keep It Together being short but sweet hardcore little hymn. This is a strong in your face no holds barred hardcore record!
