Clouds Taste Satanic release All I Want for Christmas Is Your Soul

CLOUDS TASTE SATANIC release a 4-song EP of Christmas covers on November 24, 2024.  Titled All I Want for Christmas Is Your Soul, this new recording features an added dose of heavy to some holiday classics.   Along with a reworking of You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch, Little Drummer Boy and Christmas With The Devil (a Spinal Tap original), Clouds tackles the Mariah Carey behemoth All I Want for Christmas Is You.  Christmas songs from a Doom Metal band, you ask?  Just because they are fans of Satan doesn’t mean they don’t enjoy a bit of holiday cheer.   And what song isn’t improved with a heaping helping of loud guitar?

(review) Stoned Jesus – ‘Father Light’ (Season of Mist)

Ukrainian Stoned Jesus played in my hometown in club Prostor about eight or nine years ago, I can’t remember exactly which year. Now, they released new six song material, first for Season of Mist. This band is specific mixing melody, lots of melody with doom metal sensibility and some stoner and even psychedelic song parts. Now, I must admit that I am not an avid fan of such music, but this band does it perfectly with mixing that old school Sabbath melodic vibe and haunting atmosphere with more modern aspects of doom. Vocalist/guitarist Igor Sydorenko’s voice reminds me a lot of Ozzy Osbourne in couple of song parts with color of voice and way of singing. My personal favorites are doomy ‘Season Of The Witch’, but also the title song and ‘Thoughts And Prayers’ with that catchy chorus with great harmonies on backing vocals with main vocal melodic lines. But, all of the songs are just superb to listen to and this album has no fillers and does not get boring for one second. Go check this one out!
