Satori Junk is the band hailing from Milan, Italy and this is their second full length album out on mighty Endless Winter Label. I listened to the record and reviewed it for this webzine.

The album contains intro plus six songs, one of them being The Doors cover of “Light my Fire”. The music Satori Junk are playing is some hybrid of doom metal with a lot of atmosphere and darkened, almost psychodelical passages with lyrics which draw inspiration from horror movies and literature combined with nightmares. Sound interesting? It bloody is. “All Gods Die” starts like a dreamy, atmospheric voyage, evolves into full blooded up tempo doom metal song only to die down in murky atmosphere again. “Cosmic Prison” starts almost as sludgy, rolling song being very tortured and very painful, like being trapped in the atmosphere of Lovecraftian cosmic horror. The electronic back sounds only add to the eerie feeling of this song. “Blood Red Shrine” is for me the best song on this record, having almost tribal, ritualistic primal vibe in its song structure. “Death Dog” is the longest song on this record and it reminds me a lot of old Hammer horror movies, I don´t know why, but it is a good thing. The title song is slow and dreamy, nightmarish doom horror anthem. I don´t like The Doors and their music but this cover of “Light my Fire” in doomy, sludgy version was just great. I am not a fan of music such as this, but this is a decent effort.
