German hardcore legends Ryker´s are back with new full length. Kassel crew has been a part or soundtrack of my life and hardcore upbringing since mid nineties when I was still a kid. After last stint of the band devoid of original singer Kid D, with Dennis replacing the singer decently, the original singer Kid D is back, so are these ten songs. When the album starts, I can safely say, this is one of the top three band´s releases with old school Euro hardcore style in your face. Fast hardcore anthems When The Dam Has Broken and Bread And Circuses take me back to Brother Against Brother and Ground Zero era, those two being my favorite albums of this band. Kid D sounds fantastic with his trademark deep voice and sharp riffs, fast drums and blistering guitar street wise riffs make me wave my fist in the air in the name of hardcore. As always, there is one cover song, this time it is Riot by UK Subs, excellent old school punk anthem done in a hardcore way. Don´t Bother Me and Mentally Unlocked are more metallic heavy hitters, up tempo with street punk roots that these guys never lost all these decades. The title song belongs to more slower Ryker´s opus, I like it but I am an old school sucker who loves his hardcore more fast than heavy slowed down songs hehe. But it is a cool one, do not get me wrong. Blast From The Past is lyrically for me totally best song on this record, speaking of the past present and future, all in one. But, THE BEST song for me is Death Divides Death Unites, classic streetcore anthem in the vein of old goldies like Cold Lost Sick or Gone For Good. This song I listened for couple of times in a row for sure. This is a superb album. Hardcore lives!

(record review)BORN FROM PAIN-True Love(BDHW Rec)
Born From Pain are back with their new album out via BDHW Records and I listened and reviewed it for our zine.

These guys are European hardcore veterans being around since Summer of 1997. and they play modern version of hardcore owning as much to punk roots as also thrash metal roots.
The new record contains 12 songs of brutal in your face moshing hardcore with street smart attitude and lyrics. Born From Pain now sound like a cross between Slayer, Testament and Madball thrown in one blender. Freddy from Madball is performing as guest on Bombs Away, for me the best song on this record with me being more of faster punk hardcore than this modern metal beatdown they call hardcore nowadays. But, don´t get me wrong, there are good songs on this record like Suffocate or the title track standing out as great. If you are into modern street hardcore with metal influences, European way, don´t wait up, go get this record as soon as possible.

(record review)Ninetynine-Wasteland(Dead Serious Recordings)
Ninetynine are hardcore band from Erfurt, Germany, founded in 2014. I listened and reviewed their brand new record for our zine, the record is out with Dead Serious Recordings.

The record contains 11 songs of modern European hardcore with respectful nod to old school 90-ies influences. The songs are fast enough to be great for skating like S.K.A.T.E., one of the best songs on this record. There are also anti war lyrics in strong messaged Going To War, antinationalist stance and you know that these guys wear their hearts in the right places. The groove of As One tells the hardcore story about unity and friendship and coping in this hard, cold world. I still love the message of hardcore after being on the scene for more than 25 years now. It still makes my heart sing and goosebumps on my skin. The other songs on this record that made an impact strongly on me are This Is My Youth and Statement. Good one!
