(review) Dickie Devil and the Deviants – The Undead Wanna Rock n Roll e.p.

a2525746086_10

Dickie Devil and the Deviants are from Pennsylvania and they call their music Munstercore. There are four songs on this new e.p. and the music is somewhere between garage rock, surf, horror punk and rockabilly, of course with horror lyrics and this e.p. varies from song to song. The Undead Wanna Rock n Roll is a more of a classic rock n roll song old school vibe with zombies dancing all around in their rotten clothes and flesh falling off their bodies on the floor. Creatures Pet has more rockabilly sounding guitar and beat while my personal favorite is Queen of Monster High being the most melodic and punk rock sounding song just made for you to sing along and bury your prom date to. Da Humans Run Run is also nice punk rock song and those two mentioned are my favorites. This is a great little record, for all you fiendettes and fiends, go get this one.

(review) Todo Match-The Damned(PCT musique)

cover

PCT Musique is a small punkrock label dedicated to promoting European and Canadian punk bands and delivering great underground music to us, hordes thirsty for great punk and creating underground network of cooperation. This time, they bring us the new record by punk band from Toulouse, France Todo Match. This record contains 10 songs. The music of Todo Match is a mixture between melodic side of punkrock, indie, pop punk and I can even hear more raw garage punk influence in some song structures. The lyrics are in English and I am really glad this band has something to say like against rich getting rich on the backs of poor(Rebellious Beat), pedophile priests(God Bye), unity in fight(Ignition), religion and death(Under The Stone). What I like about this band is them having a bit unconventional melodies and different songs varied from the faster punk to some mid tempo and slower bits remaining interesting all the time. The title song is pumping pure blooded punkrock but for me one of the absolute highlights of the record is A Perfect Democracy, with super lyrics and great fast energetic punk rythm. The best song on this record is Welcome To Wall Street City, filthy punk hymn against the broker system and all that corporate stocking crap going on there. Besides these songs that are highlights for me, you will have to discover the rest for yourself. Go get this one.

(review)Year Of The Fist-Revive me(Heart On Records)

a0306422220_16

Year Of The Fist are from Oakland California and this is their latest record out with Heart On Records. There are 11 songs on this record. The music they play is fast forward energetic mix of punk and rock n roll, kinda like Black Flag or Ramones met Motorhead and jammed together for a record. But, don´t get me wrong, this band is in no way anyone˙s clone or a copy, they remained energetic, fresh, fast and a real pleasure for listening. Besides faster songs like Ghosts or Blood Bath, there are couple of more mid tempo rock n roll songs like Memory Burn which add perfectly to the whole picture. Katie´s and Squeaky˙s voices interplay perfectly with Hal9000beers´s voice creating great haunting melodies just made for you to listen them on repeat day after day. For all you punkrockers who like your punkrock energetic, raw yet melodic this is a keeper!

8/10
