(record review)PRIMETIME FAILURE-“Home”

I would like the world to be one big place, big village, big city, without the boundaries but that is unfortunately not possible. Luckily for us in the punk hardcore scene, the music knows no boundaries, so everyday we get to know more and more bands that are awesome. This time I listened and reviewed for this webzine the new record by Primetime Failure, so read it here and listen to their album!

This band comes from Germany, Bielefeld area and on this record the guys play what I hold most dear to my heart, being old school 90-ies influenced melodic skatepunk. There are 8 songs on this awesome record and the energy and melody took me back to the times when I was a kind and all I wanted was to storm the streets of my town, drink some beer with my crew and listen to the awesome music under a starry sky. Nostalgic? Definitely! But, this band wakes such feelings in me! For me, the highlights of the album are “Let Go”, “Waiting” and “Stuck in the 90-s” which made goosebumps on my skin while listening. The lyrics are personal and I thought for long about the awesome vocals on this album and who they remind me of. Then I got it! The vocals reminded me a lot of one of my favorite bands, Deadends from Austria and that is why I love this band even more! If you are a fan of old school energetic, flying high melodic skatepunk and nostalgic about the old days, then this record is made in heaven forya-

(record review)ABOVE ALL GLORY-“Concrete Melodies e.p.”

Above All Glory are relatively new band from Hamburg, Germany, and this is their new record which I had the pleasure of listening and reviewing for this webzine.

cover

Formed in 2016.these guys have been active playing live and sharing stages with such names as Get Dead or Useless ID. Of course, that would mean nothing without playing awesome music! This German trio plays a mixture of fast skatecore with the melody of pop punk and they sound like the 90-ies Epitaph of Fat Wreck Chords bands transformed and evolved for the 21st century. The e.p. contains 5 songs with anthemic and epic melodies, sing along choruses and fast and energetic punkrock at times chilled with some mid tempo emotional melodic punk. I am repeating myself, but I will say it again, the vocals mean a lot to me while listening bands like this, and the vocals on this record are superb, the singer sometimes reminds me of Croatian melodic punk band Fraktura Mozga. Not on every song but often in some parts.  The backing vocals and harmonies are full and to the point here. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this record and if you are a fan of such music, and I of course am, get this record! Top song: “Hunt the Hunter” although it has a riff in which I constantly heard “Basket Case” by Green Day for some seconds, but that is only me.

(record review)Sorry for Escalating-“Losing sleep”(Horn and Hoof Records)

I love European underground punk hardcore scene and I love discovering new bands that are great and I often wonder where I was that I didn´t hear some bands. Fortunately, there are many labels that do fine job putting out great underground music, so there is no fear, the scene continues to thrive and grow bigger like a giant living thing.

Sorry For Escalating were formed in 2014.and are coming from Karlsruhe area, Germany. This is their second e.p. out on Horn and Hoof Records, so I was happy to listen to the record and review it for this webzine. The guys were formed as a band to celebrate their love of freedom and feeling. This record contains 4 songs of melodic, mid tempo emotional punkrock. This music is not for the fans of some faster aggressive stuff, because this record is a celebration of humanity, life, emotions and inner self. Personally, “Think twice” is somehow my favorite song on this record. This is not the music made for moshing to or stage diving, this is punkrock made for daydreaming, emotional catharsis and meeting with yourself and the strange ways your mind is traveling to and from. Good record!
