SDL or Sentido De Libertad are hailing from Santiago, Chile. This is their brand new EP done totally DIY and it contains 6 songs. The music is bordering between fast and melodic hardcore with some metallic even melodic death metal influences. There are 6 songs on this one and I dig this EP a lot. ‘Alerta invasor’ is an instrumental song which prepares us listeners for what is to come. One of my personal favorites is ‘Maquinaria’ having such superb melodic guitar hook on fast chorus and some groove hardcore moments in its structure. Lyrics are in Spanish language and I think as far as I understand from titles that these guys play very angry melodic hardcore. The title track also has that brutality mixed with melody and screaming and growled vocals that fit perfectly to the song structure. This title song is showing strong that melodeath and thrash metal approach in the songwriting along with hardcore roots. All songs on this EP are just epic, like also ‘Mirada indolente’ turning from mid tempo punk rock song to epic masterful metallic hardcore in just a moment. ‘Dios sin piel’ is another strongpoint on this EP being my personal favorite, fast and strong and epic. ‘Sangre en el camino’ is brutal and harsh, but it has that melodic moment on chorus where vocals are shouted and growled yet melodic at the same time, more hats off to the singer, and finishes this EP leaving me wanting more and wanting to check out these guys play live.

Drink Deep – ‘DD’
Time for some old school hardcore punk to grace the pages of this webzine. Drink Deep are hailing from Berlin and this is their 7 inch EP containing 8 short songs being just over a minute long. This is old school fast hardcore punk the way it should be done. Fast, angry, drumming and shouted vocals with some melodic parts, this one is an energy bomb. It is short but sweet with whole record being under ten minutes long, Just to leave you hungry and wanting more. Lyrics deal with letting go, friendship, loss, personal point of view but you can relate to them immediately while listening to the record and reading lyric sheet. Superb hardcore for all us old school hardcore punk fans!
(review) Full Circle – ‘Those Who Fold EP’
Full Circle are hailing from Washington DC hardcore scene. This EP contains intro plus four songs. Music is hardcore but not so much fast one, rather metallic nineties influenced hardcore which reminds me a bit of Biohazard, Sick Of It All and similar bands. Vocals are cool, not screaming but more shouted and you can understand what is being sung about with or without lyric sheet. The lyrics deal with keeping it true, the scene, false friendships, themes that are omnipresent in hardcore. The music is energetic enough to keep your hardcore heart beating but there are some slower moshing parts which I somehow dislike on this record and the guitar could be louder in the mix and more aggressive sounding, but who am I to judge? This is only my personal taste. But, this is good hardcore for listening and full album would be nice once the guys release it. My personal favorites are title track and ‘Beneath It All’. Good little EP.
