(review) Teresa Banks – Nobody ´s Coming To The Rescue

cover

Long time awaited debut full length album by Teresa Banks is out now. This Helsinki based band plays fast and very sweet melodic hardcore punk with energy, ferociousness, anthemic singalong parts of the songs and nice a bit angry vocals and if I must compare their music to some band from our scene in Croatia, it would be Fast Response. These 11 songs are just a blitz ball of energy ready to strike you down and prepare you for an all out assault of hardcore punk goodness.

I love how this band meshes personal and political lyrics in their songs and my personal favorites on this record are The Stamd, Punk Rock Today and Crossfire. Teresa Banks equally derive their music from all these nineties old school Fat and Epitaph melodic punk legendary goodies, but also are firmly turned to the next generation, so this band is ideal for fans of melodic skatepunk, but also hardcore kids will love this one. I know I do. I missed this band live, so when this shit clears, I would love to hear how this songs sound live, I am sure they are fantastic.

(review) Nagasaki Sunrise – Turn On The Power (Anoise Recs)

thumbnail_promo_tapes

Long time no crust punk graced the pages of this zine. Nagasaki Sunrise are hailing from Portugal and are this is their demo tape released by Anoise Recs.

What to expect? Awesome hardcore punk/war crust themed by WWII battlefields of Pacific. I am usually not so an avid fan of crust, but the way these guys do it is really fine and great listening pleasure. These four songs offer fast Motorhead charged crust punk with catchy almost melancholic Gothenburg-like guitar melodies, good vocals and it lasts long enough not to get boring and to leave you want more. Loud As Fuck, the title song, Napalm In The Morning and Dungeon Master are sure to win you over. The members of this band also play in Alkateya, Midnight Priest, Ravensire, Vurmo and more bands/projects. If you are into this kind of music go get this one.

(review) Accident – Live at Monteparadiso

cover

The time has come to support our own home scene on the pages of this zine. Accident are from Zagreb, Croatia and I didn´t hear from their for a while after they released two ferocious hardcore punk records a while ago. Although they had some line-up changes and been laying low for a while, here they are with new superb live recording taken from their set at legendary punk hardcore festival Monteparadiso in Pula, Croatia. As I get it this is the first gig in new line-up with former vocalist now playing drums but still the dual angry and sometimes melodic vocal attack what was the trademark of this band continues on this one. There are 11 songs on this one, one being cover by Avskum. The music is a mixture of old school Scandinavian school of hardcore punk, d-beat and still carrying that old school nineties vibe of Zagreb hardcore punk scene when bands like Verbalni Delikt, Radikalna Promjena, DHB, Optička Varka, Građani drugog reda and many others ruled the scene. All the favorites are here Victim, Zatvor, Brza smrt and many more…Support your scene and go get this one if you like fast and ferocious hardcore punk done in a right way.
