Facedown is proud to welcome Bloodlines to the Family!

From the Gulf Coast of Texas come Bloodlines, a four-piece modern -core outfit taking cues from bands like For Today, Impending Doom and Convictions. The band’s 2019 debut LP Hostile | Minds, which marries classic metal core with a distinctly progressive twist, was hailed as a “dark and violent record,” with one reviewer noting “A heavy band is born.”

Bloodlines’ mission statement is as clear as their sound is brutal. They plainly assert that their vision is very simple and that’s to spread the hope and love of Jesus Christ.

Bloodlines have released a brand new single, “Colder,” which will be followed by “HEVEL,” a 5 song EP slated for spring/summer 2021.

(review) The Slime – COMING SOON TO AN ALLEY NEAR YOU

The Slime are relatively new band based in Toronto, Canada, although all of the members come from different sides of the world. I am really glad to discover great new bands and this one is no different. This new release contains 7 songs of hardcore punk mayhem, with fast and nervous music, angry screaming vocals and discordant and almost noisy feel in some of the song structures. But, there is also a little bit of subtle melody in some of the songs, which I love very much. I love how they used Vincent Price sample in Life of Agony, one of my favorites on this record. Songs are short, hit you square in the face with old school hardcore punk speed and ferocity, my personal favorites are a bit rock influenced title song, before mentioned Life of Agony and Look and See, damn that is half of this short record. Can´t wait for further released, this one is a keeper!

(review) DAWNBRINGER – BETRAYED

ARTWORK

Dawnbringer are hailing from Italy, based in Cagliari and were formed in 2019 after members have been playing in other bands in the scene. This is their debut e.p. and it contains 6 songs. The music of Dawnbringer can be described as slower and more beatdown metalic brutal hardcore with growled and screamed, almost death metal like vocals, aggressive mosh and metal riffs, hardcore attitude and lots of stop and go breakdowns. Now, usually this is not my cup of tea, because I love more punk rooted hardcore music and street punk influenced old school hardcore, but this is actually not bad. It is executed well and this is pretty strong debut e.p. and it strikes me with songs like Betrayed and Point of no return. If you are a fan of such hardcore this is the right one forya.
