(review) Ghost – ‘Phantomime’

Ovdje se radi o obradama Television, Genesis, Iron Maiden, Tine Turner i The Stranglers.

(review) Century – ‘The Conquest of Time’ (Electric Assault Records)

Century are hailing from Sweden and have been in the scene since 2020. This is their first debut full length opus after releasing a demo and couple of singles. As far as I understand this is a duo, members are Leo Ekstrom Sollenmo (drums, guitars bass) and Staffan Tengner (vocals, guitars, bass). This one contains nine songs. Music of Century is rawer and melodic version of heavy metal, reminding me a bit of all those early NWOBHM bands, that influence is here for sure, also I can hear some eighties influences Mercyful Fate and King Diamond here and there. But, there is also fresh energy for the new metal millennium on this album with fast songs like ‘The Fighting Eagle’ or galloping ‘Sinister Star’. Vocals on this album are epic, neither mellow nor too high, just somehow right to fit music perfectly. Guitar work is impeccable and there are some melodies that you catch yourself humming to later after listening to this album with that distinct Swedish style of metal like Hammerfall coming to mind or maybe Sabaton. My personal favorites are above said songs, but also ‘Master of Hell’ and ‘Servants of the Iron Mask’ but you will have to find yours for yourselves. So, this is a fine true blooded heavy metal eighties meet modern times record with no philosophy or bullshit.

Swedish heavy/thrashers MAN MACHINE INDUSTRY release new single & video “R.I.P.” feat. David White from Heathen!

The Swedish heavy/thrash metallers MAN MACHINE INDUSTRY have released a stunning single from the brand-new EP “Eschaton II. Judgment Day”, out April 28 via GMR Music Group! The song is called “R.I.P.” and sees the participation of Heathen’s David White as special guest!

J. Bergman on “R.I.P” with David White:

I’ve been a fan of the Bay Area thrash scene since day one. Testament, Death Angel, Forbidden…and of course, HEATHEN have all been a huge inspiration to me as a songwriter. The song fits us both perfect and it’s a real fireball of a song.

As its predecessor, the main theme of “Eschaton II. Judgment Day is the end of the world. The sound is stronger, powerful, energetic and aggressive yet melodic than ever! If you are a fan of Megadeth, Judas Priest and Machine Head – this is the right sound for your ears!

MMI is the solo project created by producer/songwriter/front-man J. Bergman who has a history as the drummer in SLAPDASH (Nuclear Blast Records) and ROSICRUCIAN (Black Mark Prod). The MMI discography includes the debut “Box of Horrors” (2016, KMP), followed by “Reborn” (2018, GMR Music) and “Doomsday Clock” (2020, GMR Music). MMI appeared in the PS3/X-Box game ”The Darkness” with two videos, and you can also see him in the Viktor Vran game ”Through The Ages-The Overkill edition” together with MOTÖRHEAD.

Eschaton II. Judgment Day” has been produced, mixed and recorded by J. Bergman at Studio Killing Machine. Mastering by Erik Mårtensson at Mass Destruction Production. All instruments performed by J.
