(record review)BROWBEAT-Remove The Control(Indelirum Records)

Italian hardcore scene lives and breeds with more and more awesome bands each day coming out, putting out records, playing gigs. Browbeat are one of the old guard in the scene and I listened and reviewed their new record out on Indelirium Records.

Browbeat were originally formed in 1998., release couple of records, toured a lot and became one of the more significant bands from the late 90-ies, early 2000-s Italian hardcore scene. They disbanded somewhere in 2007. and reformed stronger than ever in 2017. Hence, new gigs, new record. This new one contains intro plus 9 songs of harsh and streetwise brutal hardcore in the style played in late 90-ies. If I must compare it to some bands it would be Madball like in When The Profit Kills, but also I hear brutal Earth Crisis style in A Forgotten Number but also some new Hatebreed/Machine Head style can be heard in the material. Do not get me wrong, these guys are not mere copies of the forementioned bands, they developed their own brutal style and polished it in hardcore black diamond of the scene. So, if you love your hardcore brutal with gang backing vocals and some clean melodic chorus thrown in here and there, you came to the right place.

(record review)Dead Uns-Cold Winds(Indelirum Records)

Italy has always been a very fertile ground for good punkrock and hardcore bands and this time I listened the new Dead Uns record which came out on Indelirium Records. Read the review here!

What do Dead Uns play? On this record you can find five songs of melodic punkrock. What is new to that? Nothing new. But, the one thing that in my mind sets Dead Uns apart from many similar bands is the atmosphere. I still get goosebumps after listening to some bands and this one is one of those. What also sets this band apart from others is the singer`s voice. That dude sings his heart out and has such a beautiful voice, harsh yet melodic and he can express all the emotions of the music with his voice. Add to that great melodic songs, you get a decent record for your pleasure. The lyrics are in English language and as I understood while listening they are mostly personal. The songs I love the most on this record are: Cold Winds and Hands Off This Land.

(record review)NOTHING I KNOW-“The cold human heart e.p.”(Indelirium Records)

Nothing I Know are Italian hardcore band that were already featured on the pages of this zine with their awesome new video for the song taken off this brand new e.p. out via Indelirium Records. I listened and reviewed the e.p. for this webzine.

cover

The band has been in existence since 2010.and after one studio album and several lineup changes this e.p. is their second studio effort. This record contains 6 songs. These guys played more metalcore sound in their earlier days and with this new material they went to more hardcore sound though they didn´t lose aggressivity and energy. The music played here would be described as new school hardcore earlier in the 90-ies, meaning the sound played by the bands such as Earth Crisis, Strife, Integrity and similar…I am more of a fan of punkier hardcore sound but this is quality metallic hardcore and I am sure fans of such hardcore style will love this record and enjoy this band. Top songs: “The Cold Human Heart” and “In My Life”.
