Mutant Reavers from Germany are in no way strangers to the pages of this webzine. Their horrorpunk releases were already reviewed and featured in this zine. This is their new e.p. The music of these 6 songs is concept driven and a bit different from their previous opuses. The music is melodic gothic industrial synthwave horrorpunk which remains in lyrics. I don’t know if it is only me but this e.p. reminds me a lot of Deathstars. I love the synth melodies, anthemic choruses and overall dystopian vibe and atmosphere of this opus. My personal favorites are Buffet of Brutality and My Dreams(Are Not Electrical). As the band says, next one will be back to more punk rock oriented music. But this one is different and awesome.

(review) Dawn of Ashes – Scars of the Broken
I am so happy when I discover new bands that I like and learn to love their music, the same as I was back in the days of tape trading and waiting for weeks for your new music to arrive via snail mail and sometimes discovering your new favorites through such tapes. Now, it is easier, especially when you run a webzine for seventh year now, but the principle is still the same, scratch beneath the surface of underground and find what you like yourself and learn everyday new stuff in our beloved extreme music scene. So, I am so happy that I discovered LA´s Dawn of Ashes. But I am at the same time a little bit ashamed. Why? Because I found out late about them and they have been in the scene for more than twenty years now, delivering their punches and this is their ninth full length opus. This one contains 12 songs, some being intro and intermezzos between the maelstorm of Hellish sadomasochistic rites, darkened atmosphere, Satanic rituals, sex, death, life all of three being interlinked in one undividable whole of us as puny humans on this planet.
Dawn of Ashes play a mixture of industrial ebm metal, with symphonic black metal parts here and there, some gothic metal songwriting thrown in and whole lot of atmospheric darkness. I always respect and love the use of samples and Dawn of Ashes use samples so clever and so fantastic that it made goosebumps on my skin while listening to this opus. Electronic is great in adaptation with guitar parts, thundering drums, keyboards and superb vocals. The latter are special and it is so amazing to hear singer Kristof Bathory changing his voice from black metal croaking to screaming, back to gothic spoken word, some singing and altering back to industrial almost robotic voice. If I must compare this band to some it would be Kovenant from Norway in Animatronic period, but Dawn of Ashes sound richer and superb, also it would be a more upgraded black metal version of Combichrist. My personal favorites are Bane of Your Existence, Heart Beats Cold and Scars of the Broken. My recommendation for you, check this one out!

Torture of Hypocrisy announces a new album and releases a new video!

‘HUMANUFACTURE’ will be the 4th studio album by the Polish industrial groove metal band TORTURE OF HYPOCRISY. It will be distributed globally by Total Metal Distribution and available on all streaming platforms on 1st October 2021. The group just released an official video clip of the track ‘TECH-ADDICT’ which promotes the upcoming album. The release will be an essence of the band’s ultra-modern style and sound compiled with mastery of tracks composition. The album will present the 7-string guitars mastership with groove drumming, concrete bass, challenging growls and screams, and a strong vibe of electronic ambiance inspired by video games such as Deus Ex series or Cyberpunk. The conceptual layer will be shown a metaphorical picture of recreating and reprogramming a human entity in modern society – humans which turned to be a battery for GDP fed by fake news and social programs like the Chinese “Social credit system”. The record features also a unique, almost 10min long industrial masterpiece titled “Body Parts Reproduction Facility”. ‘HUMANUFACTURE’ album will be a redefinition in the meaning of industrial metal, redesigned to be based on atmosphere, heaviness, severity and interesting composition, instead of techno-like music played by thousands of bands in this genre. As always, the band delivers a full top-tracking album with a no-throwbacks policy. The official sponsor of this record is the Mayor of Braniewo City.
