Bighands&Barefoot from Italy have their new record called Spirits. I listened and reviewed it for our zine.
These guys are hailing from Italy and are interesting because they are playing kind of different music than we are used to, meaning their music is very dirty, it reminds me a bit of a mixture between New Orleans muddy bajou bluesy sludge Sabbatesque sound mixed with your raw version of punkrock thus creating cool song structures. There are 11 songs on this record and each one is different and interesting to listen to, making record not boring is only plus in my eyes. There are faster, more straightforward songs like Fire, but there are also more slower ones, like beautiful melodic and atmospheric The Gate which is for me absolutely one of the highlights on this record. Black Snake is also one of my personal favorites on the record combining raw energy of punk and guitar prowess of rock and blues. Not to discover just all, you will have to get the record and find out for yourself and discover the uniqueness of this band.
Remember 7Years from Italy? We reviewed their album a while ago. recently released their brand new song and made a lyric video for it. The song is excellent, you can watch the lyric video here. Also, check out the lyrics because they have a message that is unfortunately very important to stop violence against women and domestic family violence that is reality in many homes. How can someone beat and molest their own family? How can someones home be a place of nightmare and terror? Put a stop to it! Now!
Le Iene are punkrock/ska band from Italy and I listened and reviewed their new record for this zine. The record is out with KobRecords.
I just love Italian language for melodic punk and ska bands, it is so singing lovable, so melodic, so fluent and so lovely. This band is no exemption, they sing in their native language, they are a bit similar to Talco playing ska/melodic punk, but Le Iene are a bit harder and more punk than mentioned band, with a bit less brass instruments and more guitar oriented songwriting melodies. There are intro plus eleven songs on this record all being true anthems and just making your day better and more lovely while listening. It is so hard to say which are my favorites, but I would go with Un nuovo traguardo, also Una chiamata persa and the title track. I love the music on this record and I can only imagine and hope to see these guys play live one day, because this material is fiesta for sure at the gigs! There are so much sing along parts in the songs, with all the ooos and aaas and I am still a sucker for such things after all these years! This record really made my day better and I am happy that I got to know this band since I had not known they existed prior to this record. Get this one and get it fast!
