Italy has always been a very fertile ground for good punkrock and hardcore bands and this time I listened the new Dead Uns record which came out on Indelirium Records. Read the review here!
What do Dead Uns play? On this record you can find five songs of melodic punkrock. What is new to that? Nothing new. But, the one thing that in my mind sets Dead Uns apart from many similar bands is the atmosphere. I still get goosebumps after listening to some bands and this one is one of those. What also sets this band apart from others is the singer`s voice. That dude sings his heart out and has such a beautiful voice, harsh yet melodic and he can express all the emotions of the music with his voice. Add to that great melodic songs, you get a decent record for your pleasure. The lyrics are in English language and as I understood while listening they are mostly personal. The songs I love the most on this record are: Cold Winds and Hands Off This Land.
Samhain has passed for this year, but there is no reason why we shouldn˙t continue with some horrorbilly, don˙t you agree? I listened and reviewed the new Motel Transylvania record out on Undead Artists for this zine.
As you guessed, the guys play horrorbilly, a mixture of psychobilly and horrorpunk and are hailing from Italy. There are 13 songs on this new record and it rocks! The music kinda reminds me of better known Austrians Bloodsucking Zombies From Outer Space, even vocally in some songs. The songs are melodic and varied, from the faster psychobilly of the title track, accross the twisted evil sounding doo wop of Beyond the Lights, and straight horrorpunk anthems like 4 or The Night Of The Living Dead and rock n roll of It˙s Not So Bad. . I would like very much to check out these guys live, I am sure they put on hell of a show with this fine songs. I love this record.
PESTE is the union of musicians taken from the italian underground scene. A new punk/hardcore project with members of Tutti I Colori Del Buio, Haram, If I Die Today and Papazeta. The quartet will release a self-titled EP via This Is Core during the next year. Violence, negativity and hate against mankind are the keywords for describe their work. In their fast five pieces Peste deal with the brutal horror hidden inside of everyone soul, the human ability of destroying everything all around without no remorse remaining a slave of fear till death. A truly daily and deeply nightmare inside every human being.
