(review) Real Friends – Always Lose

Illinois has always been fertile ground for great melodic pop punk and punk rock so Real Friends are hailing from there and this e.p. contains three songs, one being an acoustic version. This is ultra melodic punk rock with pop punk sensibility which successfully mixes aggression of punk riffs with melody, harmony in multiple vocals and great lyrics. Always Lose is my favorite of these three songs and this little e.p. just engaged my appetite for listening to this band more and more. Now I am going to check out their other releases for some more quality pop punk.

Basement Gary share last single off their upcoming album with music video!

A few weeks before the release of their new album As BG as they wanna be (out May 20th), French pop-punkers Basement Gary share a new music video to help us wait. Last single off the album, SuperFuzz BigMeuf will make you wish you were back to your teenage years with their distinctive pop punk energy and a music video straight out of a highschool movie.

After thousands of records sold and a great amount of sweat spread worldwide on stages with their other bands, Jean (Can’t Bear This Party!) and François (Freygolo) have teamed up together to start a common project, Basement Gary is born.

Following the release of their first tape (surprisingly named «Tape») a few years back, Basement Gary completed the line up with Julien (Freygolo) on drums and Hubert (South Berkeley) on guitar and Keyboard.Over the last few months, the 4 guys from the South of France have been blessing us with new material teasing their upcoming album As BG as they wanna be, including latest singles Like a Millionaire and Nanana.
