(new lyric video-melodic punk)Chaser (DS Records) premieres lyric video for “The Show” on PunkNews

Southern California skate-punk act CHASER have premiered a lyric video for a brand new track off their upcoming release on DYING SCENE RECORDS & EFFERVESCENCE RECORDS. “The Show” is their homage to the annual tradition of punk rock festival pilgrimage. Doesn’t matter if your festival of choice is PRB, Fest, Punk In Drublic, or Punk Rock Holiday, you’re going to relate to this song.
Of the song, the band writes:
“The Show” pays tribute to some of our favorite moments growing up. The sun is shining, the music is blasting and we’re shoulder to shoulder with thousands of people singing along. Warped Tour started it all for us, and luckily, the rise of these modern day festivals has filled the void. We’re all grown up now, and expected to take it easy, but you can’t take the punk rock out of the boy. So you’ll still find us crowd surfing, pitting, stage diving, and singing every word. “And we will stay forever this way!”  In the bridge, our singer Mike LeDonne sings, “I’ll be in the pit and taking hits,” and I chime in with “I’ll stay at the barricade”, which is actually how it usually happens when we go to shows together.

(record review)SKASSAPUNKA-“Adelante”(KobRecords Italia)

Skassapunka are now ten years old. Formed in Lainate, near Milan, Italy, they quickly evolved into one of the best European ska punkrock acts. This is their brand new fourth album that came out on mighty KobRecords Italia and I listened and reviewed it for this webzine.

29789929_10157359177584899_6710752326204155436_n

The album contains 11 songs just made to make your day and put you back up on your feet and make you dancing. The music is a mixture of melodic punk and ska with some core influences. Excellent sing along anthemic choruses, fast ska punk rythm songs for jumping and dancing and a nice lyrical stand. These guys sing against fascism, homophobia, xenophobia, imperialist tendencies…so they have their hearts and souls in the right places. The lyrics are in Italian mostly and I once already stated how I love Italian language in punk, especially melodic punk music, because it is such beautiful melodic langauge that fits nicely in melodic punkrock. So, if you love ska melodic punkrock and love to dance, sing and shout out to the loud punkrock this is the record just made for you! Top songs for me:”Entusiasmo y Venceremos” and “Back to the Past”, also “Crazy Town”.

(record review)THE LINDEN METHOD-“Thin Skin”

The Linden Method are a loud and melodic skatepunk band from Chicago, Illinois and this is their new e.p. I listened to the record and reviewed it for this webzine.

cover

The record is a follow up to the last release called “Good Enough” from 2016. As the band says the theme of this record is fear, our fear to stand up for something because we are afraid what will the society say and think of us. This record contains 6 songs of nice melodic punkrock with smart and heartfelt lyrics. The songs are sometimes fast drumming almost hardcore but most of the time they sail in some punkrock waters. The songs that I like the most on this record are “Desensitivity” reminding me somehow of Useless ID in earlier days and of course of No Use For A Name lyrically and musically.  “Straight Shot” was awesome with faster first part and the slower, groovier ending. Vocals are sung, almost with a bit crying voice but not emo, the singer´s vocals fit just right in the picture. The song of the record for me is certainly “Obey” an anthem with heart and balls just made for sing along with middle finger raised that we will never obey the restrictions that society puts upon us with an intention to silence our voices. This record is an anthem of spite and heartfelt rebellion! Awesome!
