(new lyric video)Chaser (Dying Scene Records) premieres the best new punk song you’ll here this month

Chaser from South California is a newer melodic punk band that quickly became one of my new favorite bands. I listened on repeat over and over again the songs from the upcoming full length album “Sound the sirens” on DYING SCENE RECORDS & EFFERVESCENCE RECORDS

Now, Chaser premiered the new lyric video for “Let it die”, the first Chaser track to feature dueling lead vocals between singer Mike LeDonne and bassist Jesse Stopnitzky and believe me, it is a killer combination of both melodic and powerhouse voices mixed with energetic punk rebelious song.

The band said this about the song:

“A few random facts about “Let It Die”: 1) Our album title, “Sound the Sirens” is derived from the chorus. 2) This is the first time CHASER has featured another band member in a shared lead vocal role. 3) While tracking the drums in the studio, we continued to speed up the tempo faster and faster until we felt it reflected our level of aggression and frustration, while maintaining its mid-tempo rocking spirit.”

Watch and listen:

The track will appear on Chaser’s upcoming album “Sound The Sirens” due out digitally through Dying Scene Records (pre-order) and physically through Effervescence Records (pre-order) on July 20th.

Can˙t wait for the album!

(record review)A SECOND PLAN-“Defy Gravity”(Tichiboy Records)

A Second Plan are hailing from Venice, California and this is their new record out on Tichiboy. I am glad that I had the chance to review this one.

cover

Many bands are just plain copycats today and they only tried to copy paste their favourite bands and albums. That is not the case with A Second Plan. There are 13 songs on this album and the music this band plays is a mixture of nostalgic ride along the 90-ies skatepunk road. I totally managed to feel the bond to all the bands that I listened when I was a kid in the 90-ies. On the other hand, A Second Plan manages to sound modern with excellent guitar work and melodic hardcore song structures. There are also some almost metal, Propagandhi-esque influences that I could hear while listening to this album. But, it still manages to maintain the melodrama, happiness, energy, warmth, love and everything else that´s reason why skatepunk is besides horrorpunk the best music in the world! Top songs:”Sirens”, “Vultures” and “Heads you win, tails I lose”.

(record review)NHA-“De Acuerdo”

NHA or No Hay Acuerdo is another band from the mighty South American underground scene, this time from Santiago, Chile. This is their new album, DIY released.

cover

The album contains 9 songs, one of them being No Use For A Name cover “Pacific Standard Time”. The music this band plays is fast and energetic melodic hardcore punk or skatepunk. The lyrics are in Spanish, so once again I cant understand what are they singing about, but I am sure that their hearts belong to the right place. Vocals remind a bit of  younger Tony Sly in early NUFAN phase, so does the music. The songs that I love the most on this album are “Crecimiento” and “Forestville”. You can get this album for free on Bandcamp page, but it would be nice of you in that case just to drop the line to the band, show them some love and your support for what they´re doing, it would mean a lot to the guys in the band.
