Blood Geyser are coming from Melbourne, Australia and this is their debut album. This album features 13 songs of interesting music. That being mixture of horror punk, death rock, with some metal and hardcore punk influences thrown in. This is not your usual la-la-la ooo singalong horro rpunk we all know and love, this is much darker music with pumping bass, growling and screeching vocals. The music sounds very spooky thankful to clever usage of samples from different horror legendary movies, depending on the theme of the song. I love Wanna Play? One of the most disturbing and scary songs on this record. I can only imagine how these guys would sound live with the right atmosphere for example in the castle of my hometown. That would be fantastic. Further songs that are really stand outs on this record for me are Carnival Of Terror, Family Of Cannibals and Ghosthouse. This is an awesome album. Loved every second.
Calarook are hailing from Switzerland and this is their debut full length album. When I listened to the intro on the album I thought to myself, oh no, not another Alestorm clone playing boring folk metal called pirate metal. But, fortunately I was wrong. This is more on melodic death metal side of things with growling vocals, epic guitar catchy riffs and perfect balance between aggressive fast parts and more melodic side of things. I must say that violin does a great job here, especially that fantastic violin solo in Kraken´s Chest, one of my absolute favorites on this record. This album sounds like a crosbreed of Amon Amarth, Skyclad, Running Wild and Edge of Sanity combined into one superb whole musical journey. The songs are hilarious, you just can´t go wrong with Quest For Booze or Invisible Pineapples., especially Paul the Parrot hehe. This is fine debut record, I would love to see and hear this band live somewhere, I am sure they make one hell of a party.
With the lyric video for The Pond the band ends the cycle of the namesake LP released in late 2019.
In late February, Break Me Down announced a line-up change introducing, to their fans, Veronica as their new singer. Her peculiar bluesy-dark vocal dynamic gives the additional quid that the band was looking for the completion of the project.
The lyric video is a dedication to all the supporting people a band would be nothing without: the fans. Break Me Down will always be grateful to them and declare: “Thank you for all your support, love and explosive energy you show everyday. This new project is dedicated to all of you!”.
Veronica Driven, new singer of the band, says: “I have to admit I was terrified when I first joined the band, given the important history of the group, being accepted by their fanbase was the hardest thing for me! However, I soon discovered that my fears made no sense as the fans showed me right away love and support, on social media following my artist pages, during the shooting for this video and also off stage at my first live performance with the band. Smiles, hugs and handshakes from people I didn’t know, that welcomed me in this big family. The support and messages we have been receiving lately have only proved how much Break Me Down means to their fans. So, we decided to do this video picturing our fans as protagonists in order to thank them for always being there, not only in our good times, but also in the more difficult ones. They all did a great job, and we are so proud and thrilled! We can’t wait to know what you think about it!”
