Hard rocking band HVALROSS releases third and final new 2023 single: ‘Helios”

Dutch hardrocking metal band HVALROSS is coming out with their third and last song of 2023, and what a song it is!!  “HELIOS”, a rocking, melodic song with nice, harmonized vocals and a proggy midsection featuring guest keyboard player Jochem Brok!

Hvalross is a four piece hard rocking band, not from Norway as the name would suggest, but from the South of the Netherlands. The band saw first light in the spring of 2018, but the members have been rocking since they were teenagers in the late eighties. Hvalross wants to honour these times. The hard rock and heavy metal from the seventies and eighties therefore has a strong base in their sound and lyrics, supplemented with influences from contemporary stoner and heavy rock music. It is said that you can hear influences from Mastodon, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden. Expect the classic compact four-piece rock band, in a set up just like our heroes Black Sabbath, with melodic classic hard rock vocals over a rhythmic band. Heavy and monstrous like a walrus combined with an energetic stage performance.

In October 2020 Hvalross released their debut album ‘Cold Dark Rain’ on the regular streaming platforms. Because of the bands sentiments for the good old eighties, it is also released on ‘cold rain’ coloured vinyl. The album was well received and Hvalross got representation by Hard Life Promotion. Sadly, Covid did not make it possible to promote the album live and made original drummer Tristan decide to quit the band in 2021. Hvalross quickly got back in battle formation with our good friend and drummer Marc.

Continuing to unleash new music on the world, after “Running the Gauntlet” and “Mercenary Knight” it is now time for “HELIOS”!!

French metal band The Hill Is Burning release new album “From Alpha To Omega”

“From Alpha To Omega” is the second album by The Hill Is Burning, Metal Band from Reunion Island! This album transports you into the different worlds of Death/Thrash metal!

The band go from the fast and brutal “Worms”, through the atmospheric “Tank In a Forest”, to the melodic “The Dreamer”, if you like big distortion guitars, rumbling double bass drums, and angry vocals. , you will appreciate the new album of The Hill Is Burning, produced by Chris Clancy, at audioworks production,England!”

The Band

Influenced by Sepultura, Nevermore, Coroner, Neurosis and Gojira, the group The Hill is Burning was born in November 2015, at the initiative of Cédric Quéré,Vocal/guitar. The Hill Is Burning’s first album, “Last Bullet”, was released on digital platforms in March 2020. But the shadow of Covid 19 hanging over the music industry is jeopardizing this long- awaited release.

The Hill Is Burning begins the year 2022 with the creation of new compositions: more direct songs, textures and a different sound universe, marked by new effects. Following this compositional work and in a moment of madness, the group ventured to contact Colin Richardson, the producer of… Machine Head (“Burn my eyes”, that’s him!), Slipknot, Sepultura, Carcass or even Napalm Death.

Ten tracks were recorded in Reunion Island and sent to England to be fully mixed and mastered at Audioworks Studio. The first single, “The Dreamer” was released on March 24, 2023, and has been ranked in the top 10 of South American Rock radio stations for more than 3 months.

The band has performed several concerts since January, and is preparing to do several dates until the end of the year, including the night of Kal, a reference for Réunion metal, as the first part of “AKIAVEL” in the month of October.

Norwegian Metal Discovery DEMONS BY DESIGN Drops New Single & Video, “Thylacine”

DEMONS BY DESIGN, the side project of talented artist Colin Emery (PERFECT NME).Drawing inspiration from earlier musical and conceptual influences, DEMONS BY DESIGN seeks to recombine those various elements in a new way and to present them in a contemporary fashion. This musical freedom allows for much scope to experiment with sounds and atmospheres, incorporating elements of industrial, goth, and metal, to name a few. The occasional collaboration with guest artists also helps to add an additional layer to a song’s atmosphere and impact.
“THYLACINE” is the third single from DEMONS BY DESIGN following on the success of the debut singles; “FEED ME LIKE A DRUG” (feat. Kirsten Jørgensen) and “SCARLET”, both released via Wormholedeath Records.”THYLACINE” has a dark, industrial character, interspersed with atmospheric and melodic elements, yielding an intense and emotional song, mirrored by the lyrics that deal with the deconstruction and the loss of one’s self over time. “Thylacine” is now available for purchase and streaming through Wormholedeath Records.

Colin Emery, the mastermind behind DEMONS BY DESIGN, is also the esteemed lead singer of the Norwegian metal sensation PERFECT NME. The band’s debut album, released in 2020 via Wormholedeath Records, received critical acclaim, and they are currently hard at work on their highly anticipated follow-up.
