The new Italian prog trio Infinite Rising has released a brand new single and music video! The project takes inspiration from Sci-Fi based novels, books, movies and tv series. Their sound and melodies lead listeners into the deepest Universe.
The line-up is made by Federico Albanese (guitar), Silvia Pistolesi (bass) and Alessandro Formichi (drums). The official videoclip has been released by Miriam Granatello at Legend Studio in Rome. Mix and Master by Leonardo Bellavista (Void Studio).
This new single deals with the theme of insomnia. There are feelings that begin to prevent the protagonist from resting, which can be a gateway to major problems or increase those that have been dragging. Both compositionally and thematically, it tries to convey the strong anxiety that can produce to face this sleep disorder. The Iris has been chosen for the art of this theme because this flower has sedative properties that can facilitate the conciliation of sleep. The color purple has been chosen for the visual art of this theme as it tends to represent or induce a state of relaxation.
‘Antesis’ is the latest work of the band. A conceptual EP that addresses one of the most important taboo topics in today’s society, mental health. The work is composed of 6 tracks. In each one of them, a hypothetical situation is shown in the different phases that a person can suffer in his fall towards depression. Anthesis, in botany, means the development of flowers from birth to withering. A concept that ideally represents the theme of the EP creating a parallelism. In addition, we wanted to find a relationship between art and theme, where each of the themes have a certain color and a figure that helps to emphasize the message that each song wants to express. The figures make reference to different plants to give meaning to the name of the EP. This album has been produced by No Drop For Us and recorded, mixed and mastered at Baboon records, Albacete, studio where bands like Angelus Apatrida have trusted for the recording of their new album.
Fallstar’s sixth studio album sees the band coming into their own, understanding the qualities of their previous records and how they relate to the band’s identity; all culminating in the control and authority displayed on Sacred Mirrors.
Most artists won’t admit that they set out to intentionally replicate a previous album, but Fallstar readily acknowledges it’s exactly what they meant to do with Sacred Mirrors. “We found formulas and voices that really work for us and we’re gonna refine that. Sunbreather set the standard for what we are as a band and we wanted to make that record again, but even better.” The songs are diverse, but the record as a whole is the most cohesive project the band has ever completed. “Picking singles was miserable because there are no clear winners. All the songs can stand on their own.”
Sacred Mirrors was written before the band’s most current Facedown album Sunbreather was even released, but recording for the album wasn’t begun until the winter of 2021. Musically, the goal for Sacred Mirrors was to hone the structure and style created on Sunbreather; lyrically the message is straightforward: “Self reflection is the sacred mirror.”
Sacred Mirrors will be released on July 14, 2023. The first single “Doomsayer” is out now.Listen: Spotify Apple Music Amazon Pre-Orders will be launching next month and include some amazing looking, very limited colored vinyl. Keep an eye out for that.
