(review) Batboner – Batboner

a2934287702_10

And now for something completely different as legendary Monty Python would say. Batboner are hailing from Oslo, Norway, land of fjords, beautiful landscape and black metal. But, do not haste. Batboner are not playing black metal, but deathrock they do and they do it well!

This is their nine song debut album after ten years as a band, after some line – up changes and couple of e.p.-s and singles and represents what the band really is, deathrock theme added with some goth, punk and progressive elements in the song structures. Some songs remind me of Croatian band Phantasmagoria a little bit. The songs are thick with atmosphere, melodic yet heavy and I love the vocals how deep and great they sound. For me personally, the best songs and highlights on this record are Chrysalis and Lala Land. I don´t usually listen to many bands like this one, but this music is great for all darkened hearts out there.

(review) Anti-Lam Front – Soloalbum

cover

My favorite Norwegians Anti-Lam Front released the new record and I can´t talk enough of this band on the pages of this zine, being my favorite Norwegian punk band, proving not only good black metal comes from that country. I was fortunate enough to see their energetic set at Punk Rock Holiday in Slovenia in 2019 and they are one energetic bomb. This record contains 14 songs and one of my favorites is there Litt av en Khan in 2020 superb version. What to expect? Anthemic melodic guitar work, catchy songs, fantastic melodic punk topped with singer Erland´s voice who is for sure one of the best singers in the scene right now. Add to that so sweet backing vocal melodies, harmonies and all the lyrics in Norwegian. I don´t really understand but from the titles I catch a little and love what I hear. Favorite songs: Litt av en Khan, Ohhi, A slutt mens leiken i e god. Catch this one. God damn corona, I would like to catch and see these guys play live somewhere, someday.

(review) goldenboy-Home Alone Sessions

goldenboy are in no way strangers to the pages of this zine. This band comes from Bergen, Norway, and are playing melodic pop punk and deliver nice anthemic choruses, beautiful melodic verses, nice heartfelt lyrics and the most important of all, make your day way better and nicer when listening to their music.

They released new acoustic e.p. when they were quarantined by the covid shitty epidemic that had so much impact on our scene, banning gigs and festivals, making us hold the scene as much as we can with the music, reviews, support and friendship. These three songs are new versions of already released tunes, but what an e.p. this is. You can feel the energy through melody no matter that it is acoustic. My favorite is Old and boring, but all three songs are epic.
