(record review)BILLYBIO-Feed The Fire

I must say that I love Biohazard. Their first three records are for me a milestone in hardcore and they helped me form my brain towards the other hardcore bands and the richness of our scene.

Now, with Biohazard being on hold or indefinite hiatus, the mastermind Billy Graziadei formed his solo project, BillyBio, surrounded himself with quality experienced scene musicians, recorded and released this record.

The record contains 13 tracks, 2 being kinda interludes. Music of BillyBio is not unlike his main band, but evolved more into modern version of hardcore with metal and punk and also some industrial influences. Besides classic nyhc, there are rock n roll melodic songs on the record like one of my favorites Generation Z, or brutal metalized, but still enough hardcore Sodality. I can only imagine how this material sounds great and energetic live. I can˙t wait to check this out live! This is a great record, made by the veteran of hardcore scene.

(record review)Scarboro-Wolves on the radio(WTF records)

We already featured Scarboro in an recent interview on the pages of this zine. Now is the time for me to listen and review their new record out on WTF records for this zine.

SCARBORO HR

Scarboro are from Brooklyn, New York, but apart from the other bands on the NYHC scene, this band is leaning more towards punkrock side of things. This record contains 5 songs. When you listen to this band, you have to take the raw and untamed energy of Black Flag, emotional and larger than life melody of Descendents, mix it with both feet standing firmly inside New York hardcore history and legacy and you get the music of this band. I love this record. Of course, everyone of us always finds some of song favorites on the records we listen, so mine are the title song and Another Day. The vocals are just right, melodic but enough harsh to pass as hardcore vocals and the musicianship and the sound of the record is in my opinion great. I would like very much to hear the full length record in the future. Awesome!

0bbc7119-6c2d-46ae-a6e7-652635b11d13

Fat Wreck Chords is thrilled to welcome SICK OF IT ALL back to the FAT family! On November 2nd, we’ll join forces with Century Media to release their latest opus, Wake The Sleeping Dragon! We could not be more excited to be handling the CD and LP in the US, as well as the vinyl in Canada. SOIA once again teamed up with producer Jerry Farley (Lamb of God/Every Time I Die) and came out with an absolute banger. If you missed the premiere of the lead single, “Inner Vision,” Consequence of Sound has you covered. Then, once you’ve had a chance to catch your breath, pre-order your copy! Check out what SOIA had to say about returning to FAT, below:

Having a long history with both Century Media and Fat Wreck Chords, and knowing how much they care about us and the music we make, we are psyched about this joint effort! Both labels have been friends and champions of SOIA, on their roster or not.
