old school death metal | KRAYKULLA-WEBZINE

I already talked about how great Russian underground scene is, and for me is always great to find some new bands from that scene and become a fan. This time I listened to the record by WOMBRIPPER and reviewed it for this webzine.

I must admit that I have never heard of this band prior to this record. It contains 12 songs of utter destruction and rolling old school death metal. The song guitar structures are dirty but have some nice hidden melodies underneath like in “Rest…” and you can also feel nod to the thrash metal influences in many songs. The music is aggressive but it also has some emotion behind it, it awoke spirit of depression and despair, but also anger and willingness to fight back. You can´t go wrong with songs like “Immolation rites” and “The suicidal recreation” with all the raw and primordial magic behind the songs. This is a great old school death metal album for all the fans and an impressive debut.

Founded in 2010., Supreme Carnage from Germany have been around on the scene for a while doing supreme shows and becoming a force to be counted on the European and world underground scene. This is their new album which I reviewed for this webzine.

The album contains 9 songs of awesome old school death metal which so few bands play today. This means old school European pumping death metal in the vein of early Entombed, Dismember, Gorefest and similar acts. The music is not blastbeats but fast and cutting aggressive riffs combined with brutal but understandable vocals and some nice underlined melodic guitar hooks in the song structures. I loved the anthemic chorus of the title song with nice melody underneath the brutality. Also, one of the highlights of the album for me is “The world is lost” being energetic, melodic and brutal at the same time. In all, this is a very good record, check this out and get this little death metal jewel!
