(record review)THE PENSKE FILE-“Salvation”(Stomp)

The Penske File is a punkrock trio coming from Burlington,On and this is their new album coming out on Stomp Records

PenskeFile_Salvation_Cover

The album contains 11 songs of beautiful melodic punkrock with a pop punk touch and emotional, heartfelt personal lyrics. This punk  is emotional, melodic, uplifting and inspiring, so it is a pleasure to listen to it over and over and over again. From the “Kamikaze Kids” for which video was made, over excellent “Fairgrounds” to the “Blessed Unrest” we hear urban punkrock which sounds like smell of rain on the hot city asphalt and if I must compare this band to something I will tell you that The Penske File sounds like a mix of Bouncing Souls and Hot Water Music. Though their music makes me smile, it also makes me so sad and somehow melancholic. I love this album and I hope you´ll love it too!

(new single) ELM TREE CIRCLE released “The Lease” taken from their upcoming album “The Good Life”

ELM TREE CIRCLE is a four-piece Emo Pop-Punk band from Germany. Over the last few years, the band has been engaged in extensive touring playing numerous shows across Europe up to Asia and abroad, sharing the stage with such iconic acts as THE ATARIS, PEARS and SUCH GOLD. After a successful 2017 including tours through Australia, Japan, Europe and the UK the band is now looking forward to their most significant year so far.

Alongside the release of their first full length album The Good Life the band will for the first time embark on a tour featuring their full line-up, serving everyone, from English breakfast tea drinkers to Swiss fondue fanatics with an exquisite menu of handcrafted songs. They already unveiled their first single Feel The Burn taken from this upcoming album and now you can also listen to their brand-new single The Lease with their 360° music video.

Set to release on the 11th of May 2018 through KROD RECORDS, The Good Life is a lovely
piece of modern emo-punk.The band has evolved towards a style that inherits all the classic influences of their 2000s pop-punk heroes paired with a good touch of emotional lyrics, melancholic chords and distinct vocal lines that spin in your head after the first listen.

(record review)WE WERE SHARKS-“Lost Touch”(Victory Records)

We Were Sharks are a six piece melodic punk band hailing from Ottawa, Canada and this is their new album that came out on mighty Victory Records.

VR748_WeWereSharks1500

The band formed in 2011.and since then they have gathered a lot of miles of relentless touring and playing their tunes to armies of fans. Since then they have released one album and one ep and this is their new full length album first for Victory. The album contains 10 tracks of melodic pop punk with energetic drumming, anthemic choruses and excellent harmonies and melodic guitar hooks. The lyrics deal with becoming alienated and disconnected from this hectic modern world, relationships, losing friendship and similar themes. Vocalist Randy Frobel sings excellently and the production of the album, courtesy of  Silverstein guitarist Paul Marc Rousseau and producer Sam Guaiana, is just the way I love it. Naturally, I am the fan of the faster and more straightforward hardcorish songs so “Ashley” and “Late Bloomer”, the latter featuring guest vocals by Ollie Baxxter of Broadside are my favourites on this album. The guys are starting the new tour, so get the album, learn the lyrics, go to the gig and sing along.
