SchwertMann Releases New Single And Video ‘Supernatural Forces’ From His Upcoming Solo Record ‘Theater Of Grief ‘. Pre-Order Started!

Epic solo concept album Theater Of Grief drops November 5th, 2021 on Glassville Records.

Under the project name SchwertMann, 51 year old singer, songwriter, guitarist and bass player Bart Schwertmann is going to release his solo concept album entitled Theater Of Grief this autumn.
Bart Schwertmann is the current frontman and lead singer of the legendary Dutch progressive rock band KAYAK.
When Covid kicked in and all gigs were cancelled, SchwertMann decided to use this unusual time of no touring to go into the studio and fulfill his long-cherished bucket-list wish: finishing and recording his concept album that he had already started writing before the pandemic.
Together with his producer Niels Lingbeek and with the help of some good musician friends in other studios, SchwertMann managed to achieve this goal during Covid’s lockdowns.

Theater Of Grief contains prog, heavy rock and melodic songs characterized by dynamic vocal contrasts and depth.
During the recording of the album, SchwertMann pushed his vocal boundaries, resulting in some of the best vocal tracks of his career.

Pre-order

Several years ago, before joining KAYAK, SchwertMann suffered a hernia and burnout.
For this reason he had to go through rehabilitation and grieving process.
SchwertMann used his grieving process as a guideline for the Theater Of Grief concept.

Theater Of Grief will be released November 5th 2021 on GlassVille Records.

Bio:

White Thunder are part of the italian progressive metal scene, with an original sound and a varied proposal that starts from classic metal and takes inspiration from many other genres outside of it.

They were formed in 2011 and after some line-up changes they found the right formula with Mattia Fagiolo on vocals, Alessandro De Falco and Jacopo Fagiolo on guitars, Simone Ndiaye on bass and Davide Fabrizio on drums.

The ingredients of their music: a careful use of dynamics, with clean sections alternating with aggressive and fast sections, power, creativity and a very strong union between the instrumental and the voices, both melodic and growl.

The first EP “Never Ending Silence” was released in 2019, propedeutic to the preparation of the debut album “Maximum: The Journey Of a Billion Years“, a work that presents a progressive metal concept with many colorful shades.

Their lyrics investigate the dynamics of the most intimate and controversial emotions.

(record review)VersOver- “Hell’s Inc.” (Hell’s Inc. Records)

VersOver has been on the scene for more than 20 years now being formed in 1997. This Brasilian band released their new record and I reviewed it for this zine.

cover_1516793117566613

The new album contains 12 tracks of modern and melodic power metal. The production and the sound of the band is awesome. There are a lot of progressive metal influences in the song structures, and these guys really know how to handle their instruments. I loved the anthemic chorus of “Howl in Pain” and progressive music landscape of “Human Condition”. In their promosheet the guys say that they have been influenced with wide range of bands from Megadeth to Rush and it is true. The wide spectrum of influences only made the music more positive. Their music is somehow the amalgamation, the sum of their influences, but leaving a healthy dose of originality. Awesome album!

8,5/10
